You can say that again! I just made an appointment with Mitsu today so they can try tomorrow morning to get that damn O2 loose. $45! I've tried 3 times, even dropped the whole down pipe and cat to get a better angle on it. No luck...

I'll let you guys know how it went at Mitsu.

Why don't you take the exhaust manifold out of the engine bay and remove the o2 with the manifold on the floor? You know the 02 sensor can be disconnected right?

i think he's talking about the 2nd sensor. i totally rounded mine out, so there will be no mechanical fix for me. i even broke an O2 sensor socket trying to get the thing out. it did NOT want to come out.

i got my MIL eliminator from mileliminatorsonline.com today though and i will probably install it tomorrow. it's too cold and wet outside right now... even if the install will be in the cabin.

That would make more sense
In that case, soak the thing with wd-40, loose nut or whatever product you like, let it sit for a while(as in at least 24 hours) and give it another try. If it still doesn't want to come out... Then do the same thing the dealer is going to do...

Take out the blow torch.

Well, I went to Mitsu. Waited about 15 minutes for them to put my car on a lift. Then let them scare me with talk about "If I already tried it and it wont come out it is siezed and the threads might break if they take it out." I wanted to live on the wild side and said take it off but if it looks like it doesn't want to go don't force it. So, as I'm sitting in the waiting room the guy comes up to me and says the O2 is too rounded off and they can't get it off. (It was not rounded, only on two sides the metal had moved a little but not much) For them to get it off they would have to drop the down pipe and yada yada. (I'm like I did that myself you can do it too) But they said they would have to reshape the O2 and yada yada and the charge would be $180...

I said, "No thanks!" They said, "No charge" I took my keys and left...

Guess I gotta try again...

They are goons. I can take a giant pair of channel locks and take it out. I have taken out many a round one with those.

There are tons of goons. Either they cannot do a simple thing or they want to make it appear more difficult so they can empty your wallet!
