RHD Lancer?
i'd wanted to try to import an older evo from japan... but i quickly realized that i could definitely not afford that. you have to jump through so many hoops for RHD stuff, if you were to do some kind of conversion on your car it may no longer be street legal, either.
i suppose we MIGHT be able to get away with providing crash test results from say an australian lancer since those are RHD--but they are also different cars... they get the evo engine, and they get CVT... and look at canada, you can't have evos there because (if i remember correctly) there's an issue with the crash results in a front-end crash in that there is an awful lot of dollar damage done.
from what i looked into for importing a RHD car you'd need to provide crash test results that needed to be satisfatory for the NHTSA, you needed to put on all new catalytic converters, and you needed to convert the car to OBD-II. seems simple enough, but it's the crash test part that's the hardest i think.
someone please correct me if i am wrong, i only did about a week of research into the whole RHD thing because it was about then i realized it was a dream that i could probably never turn into reality without a lot of cash.

There is a 02-03 Lancer Cedia RHD sitting about half a mile from my house in the "richy" subdivision... seen it out a few times... all I know is it had to be hell to import that.

It is the mystery of evom. Seriously though, this is never as easy as it seems based on what a friend of a friend's cousin told you. For one it's in the grey area of the law which is sticky at best. Secondly, hate to be the old man but insurance? Safety?
its possible. Its not legal but its possible. You'll have to go vin hunting. IT IS ILLEGAL but possible.
Dont try this at home. Im not advocating this. Im just telling you how ive seen ppl do it.

I don't even know if there was one in the U.S.
I bet there is one thou.
Hondas are really easy and cheap to import, or buy, but Lancer being a rare car makes it harder.
Just wondering if anybody saw one out there.

I did for about a year. Traded it for a Hatchback and about 2-3 weeks later after trading, he says he sent me money for the body kit. The body kit was molded!!
IDK why he said I scammed him. People really need to get a life. He got nothing from me, so IDK what the point of all this BS was. Just ruined my reputation.
But hey, what comes around, goes around
