rock: my cousin in LA drives a evo 8. i saw his CF wing and hood is wearing out. is that because of the rain? whats the reason behind that? i dont think he got those from RRM but do you think ur CF hood can withstand rain, snow etc? u guys dont have snow. i get it every year
Rain and snow are good for it. It is the sun that will eventually cause some damage. We clear coat all of our hoods like your paint so we do not have issues. Mass produced hoods ususally do not have clear coat on them.

Yeah, a good one will be clear coated. And you should wax it regularly to keep it protected or it might start turning yellow.

Agreed with what's been said. Clearcoating is very important, and the owner care is almost equally as important. You really gotta take care of the CF to make it stay nice.
