Drifting An OZ...

Hey guys, I was reading online that I can swing the back side of my carr out when turning by left foot breaking....Wait...thats not drifting more like *** dragging sorry for the bad title....Anyways, has anyone ever tried to get the Lancer (i have an OZ) sidways???or somewhat sideways for that matter? BEcause the next time i get some rain i am going to try this. IT should be fun...do you think i have enough power to left foot break? PRos and Cons guys.

Becareful doing it in the rain. I would try it on a dry road first to get the hang of it if it is possible.

Heh...in an evo it should be easy with all of that power. Pull into the turn...downshift and get your rpms high as hell and pop the clutch..you should be sliding by that point for how long is another question...I heard the evo has a chip that corrects for you...is that tue?

In my ES it's real easy with no passengers in the back. Just turn in early and stab the brakes and the back end rotates round. However, being front wheel drive it's a little difficult to hold the slide because you can't supply power to the rears to keep them hanging out back there. First time I tried it instinct took over and I steered into it straight away which lead to understeer and a little trip off track .

meh. go somewhat fast, turn wide and yank it sharp in the other direction. pull the ebrake and you should swing somewhere. just dont hit anything--do it in an empty area or something. i've had some fun with this. i used to "drift" onto my driveway and park, "drift" out of my neighbordhood..stuff like that. kinda dumb, but it makes you laugh if you get it, it is kinda stupid

No. You might be referring to the active yaw control which the US Evo doesn't have.

Iv drifted mine a couple times on dry pavement. Started turning wide to get my rear unaligned with the front the yanked hard left, down shifted and revved to keep the front off traction. only drifted maybe 15-20 feet sideways

Oh yeah and by the way. Think about doing anything befre you actually do it. Drifting will rape your tires quick.

im thinking i would do like i did "what wording there huh?" I first found and open dirt field, mainly for the fact that dirt gives and concrete doesnt. I dont like the chances of tires buckling under pressure, yes even low pro tires buckle. And from competing in the ITN rally circut i found its very easy to drift on black ice HAHAHA , just what ever you do and however you do it please be careful !

i always drift my lancer, but im not sure what you mean with your left foot. does that mean foot on gas and brake? well anyways just use the ebrake, it makes it a lot easier when you slide. someday ill try that 180 thing from 2fast2furious (that movie is bull) but who knows maybe itll work even though you prolly cant go past 40 in reverse.

nah the ebrake makes you loose control...left foot breaking will keep out in power durring the slide that way you dont spin into a poll or some ****.
