ok i found a 2003 eclipse GTS for 6,750 and i was thinking i could trade my lancer in for like 6k. but when i e-mailed him he said the MOST in mint condition it would be 5,200

Mileage on your car will count against you. IMO

 

clean trade-in value per NADA for your car is only $4825.00 with that mileage, sorry - but you might be able to squeeze some more out of the dealer.

 

Dealer offered me $4400 with 50k on my OZ. Trade-in is not worth it. I'd try a private sale first.

 

^^ so true. you would definitely get more money by selling privately than trading it in. Dealers buy the car off you by $2000-3000 less than what its really worth.

ya trade in in general will lose you money, but a trade in with over 100k miles will kill you because it is about 40k more than average and when a dealer looks for a trade-in they normally frown upon the high-mileage trade-ins... sorry bro. if I were you, sell it private because you will probably get a few grand more

 

I know that the trade-in value sucks on these, but why the '03 Eclipse? I'd actually keep a lancer over that! LOL

I agree with SLVROZ. haha. lancer is much nicer then a 3'rd gen eclipse. haha.

I got offered 6k for my oz lancer when it had 15k on the odo in 06. Of course I walked outa there.... lol

 

I was offered $2,060 for my 02 Lancer ES... 82k miles on it.

i just wanted a little more power for a little more of a price and the eclipse has a new motor in it and ill be moving t a 5 speed instead of auto and its a V6 GTS

 

i was really thinking about it there was an evo for about 15.5 and the 7 for my car would payoff my loan but the evo needed way to much work... so I opted out...
