People Who Traded Their Evo IX for X?
Hi, I am thinking about trading my Evo IX in for a X. Now the dealer I am looking to buy from has only offered me 17K for my trade in. Car has basic bolt ons, and has 52K miles. Does this sound like a fair price to you? Seems pretty low to me.
My Question is; People who have traded in their IX's for the X, what did you get for a trade on your IX? Thanks in advance.

great trade, but that was before the economy collapsed. EvoXs then were selling at MSRP prices. A similar IX in terms of miles (20k) would probably be in $18K-21K (depends on trim) at dealer trade-in nowadays. That's not bad considering you can get a new X for $5K-$8K off (& 0% APR).
Cush87, a dealer trade of $17K should be fine for an IX at 52K miles, but make sure you get at least $5-6K off sticker & zero APR on a new X!

17k is a fair trade, believe me.
you are getting a great deal on the x and that may compensate your loss on your trade in.
one thing i am really sure is that the dealership will take the car for 17k and sell it for 22k+ depending on the condition of the car.
Good luck on the deal. 17k is really a fair game for a 3 year old car almost at its 60k milestone considering private sales only go for around 20-22k.

I got close to 20k with my IX with just north of 70K miles. And there was damage to the bumper, lip, and right side fender.
Car did have the SSL package but I am sure that only added about 250-500 bucks to the value.

yeah, I think that's a decent trade... they only wanted to offer me 18k for my 06 RS with 2300 miles on it... this was back in like January. The X is overall a MUCH better car in everyway. It doesn't have that snap your head off turbo feel until you get a tune, but the comfort of the car is worlds apart, the handling is absolutely fabulous... you feel like you could take any corner you want as fast as you want and you almost could, but don't do that lol. I didn't like the look of it at first, but now in person like it better than my IX. Take off the mods and sell them and get 17k for your car... maybe you'll make a little bit more to put down or to put into some mods.
