Service Engine Soon Light.........
Dealers must fix recalls for free. If they tell you it's not a recall, well they are bsing and you should bring in some documentation before you go.
If you let it be, the SES light will stay on and eventually, when you take it for emissions, you will fail immediately because it's on. I've been driving with that code for a while and its had no problems for the car...as far as I can tell...

Depending on where you are, if your state does not do inspections via OBD2 then your fine. Otherwise you'll fail. Check engine lights arent really harmful to the engine. When the engine breaks, the check engine light does not come on.
just go ask the dealer. And the "hole" you were talking about on the downpipe region of the car is probably just the metal covering of the actual downpipe... It has sort of a slit it it about half an inch to an inch wide.
allright ill try and go tomomrow i hope they will fix it for free because my car isnt under warranty any more.....i tried doing a search but didnt find that in the recalls....hope for the best i guess
so i went to the dealership today and it was a faulty cat...so they ordered it and they are gonna install it on wed for free cuz of the recall.............
by the way just further the topic on how much dealerships are ripoffs...they were going to charge me 98.00 just to scan my CEL .....lol wtf but since its a recall its free but still wtf

Are you on drugs?? A CEL can be very dangerous to your engines health depending on the code.
If you get a code for a misfire or lean burn...if you cat is reading lean...hence a misfire, because all the O2 sensor does is sense oxygen not fuel content, it will tell the ECU to put more fuel into the engine creating a very rich condition, wiping out cylinder walls, and your cat as well....what happens if you ignore it...who can guess??!!
You could pre-ignite to the point of burning a hole in the top of you piston. So when you get a check engine light....go find out whats wrong asap...thats if you care about you car!
