2008 Lancer recall - rear door
Here's the NHTSA link: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ncap/cars/4141.html
IIHS also gave the Lancer good ratings on the frontal offset test
http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?id=811
They have not done the side impact test yet for 08s, the 2002-06s got poor marks on the side impact but that was without side impact airbags - which come standard on the 08s.
I should add - GEICO's quote for the 08 GTS came in cheaper than the Mazda 3 I was comparing it with, and that INCLUDED the traction control & electronic stability control on the Mazda 3. So GEICO seems to like the Lancers.

BTW, I just took my car into the dealership today for the recall work. Took them a while to get it finished but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Wow! This is crazy. I got a lower monthly quote for the Mazda 3 by about $50 or so dollars. I have noticed that I was paying a lot less for the EVO a month than I am for the '08 now, I suppose this COULD be because insurance companies still lack the necessary data to give their customers are more "accurate" quote? When I spoke to Geico and Esurance they both told me that the GTS was currently being compared to the '06 EVO, which upset me a great deal because I couldn't possibly believe that whomever I was speaking to was giving me a straight answer.

The tech showed me some pictures on the work they were goin to do.
technical bullitens are only performed to fix a complaint
for the Canucks... just sit tight.. unfortunately it seems the cnd counterparts of the auto companies always get to us LAST (from recalls to ecu tuning.. it's not uncommon for me to have to scan a vehicle a year behind to get proper info)
