Recall: Side window sashes

I took my GTS to get the oil changed for the first time today and they were like oh theres a recall on your car too. Apparently the side window sashes (the column between the front and rear doors) was causing the car when in an accident to have the doors stick closed due to a piece being too short.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on that.

Any idea what they are doing to fix this? Because I'm taking my car into the dealership to have something else fixed (again) so I'm going to ask them about this.

I don't know exactly what they did they replaced the part in the door sash with a new one im assuming a longer piece that isn't defective, all free of course cuz it was a factory recall

you guys never heard of this? well I got my car back in april and I got a letter in the mail explaining all of this like maybe 1 to 2 months ago I took my car in and they fix it in like 1-2 hrs. Im at 5000 miles now and only thing my car does is pull a little to the left which im going to go take it in for that, but you guys should have recived a letter from mitsubishi letting you guys know about the recall!

Oh, then I don't have to worry, I'm assuming...I just got mine at the beginning of July, so they probably already had it fixed by then.

Adrian - it's nice to hear someone else has the problem of pulling to the left.

Sorry it's a bit but, I had the same problem with my GTS CVT pulling to the left so I took it to my dealer to have it looked at. After a few hours of "talking" back and forth, they told me that it has no problems and told me that most road are 'crowned' (higher in the middle than the sides). I proceded to ask them if that is the case, why does my car pull to the left on the right side of the road. No explanation there either. I get one free alignment (from ) within the first 12,000 miles so he told me to come back at like 11,000 and he will throw it up on the rack. I checked tire pressures and everything is right on the money. I don't know. I gave up after a few hours of "talking" to my dealership. Guess it's just a Lancer thing. Good luck tho. I hope you have a better outcome than I did.

When i took my car in for its first oil change, i was told about the recall as well. But they told me that the rear door pops open on a severe side impact. What they did is take off the interior door panel, pull out this bar, and replace it with one that is 3 inches longer. Took about 45 minutes to do both rear doors.

As for the pull to the left, ive also got that happening.

mine dose not pull to the left, I can take my hands off the wheel and it steers perfect, tracks great! I have not recived any info on this recall. SHould I be getting something in the mail? My cars only 2 1/2 months old she has 3500 miles on her.
