dragracing and all wheel drive??
"The Evo accelerates better from 80 kmh to 150 kmh in 5th gear than ANY OTHER car. This was measured by Sport Auto (France). "
Would that be the TME? I would think the VII's 5th gear wouldn't get going quite as low, since it's geared higher for better gas mileage and lower noise at cruising speeds.

But what about not just staying in 5th gear, what if you downshift? how does that compare to other cars (with them downshifting too of course).
by the way, i test drove a '92 VR-4 today.(the twin turbo) it was nice. accelerated good in all gears. how does an evo copare to that?

don't think there is much of a difference between E7 and TME, just weight, looks and chasis stiffness, I think the gearing is the same (GSR to GSR of course).
Evo should be allround better than the VR-4, acceleration and handling, becuase it is lighter.
If you want to drag an EVO, or most other cars for that matter get a computer with launch control and anti-lag, it makes a huge difference.

UHM NO. a evo 7 will not do 0-60 in 4.3. no way in hell. i think its around 4.7...i dont knoow actually ive heard so many different ****ing numbers its ridiculous...but for a 3000+ lb car with 276 hp...id say very high 4s and low 5s. an m3 would definently be a perfect match up for a evo in the 1/4

i call bs on that one...i dont think that magazine knows what the hell they are talking about. im sure they were able to get ahold of every single 200k+ supercar out there and run tests on them. plsu im sure there are many cars that can pull harder from 80 to 150...id bet my money on something from germany...since they are designed to haull *** on the autobahn.
evo penguin,
M3 does not come close to Evo, that's why I sold it (E36 Euro spec) and got the Evo. Also did a group test with the new E46 M3, its a very nice car but is a cruiser and too heavy to compete with an Evo.

uhm...i was talkign about the new m3...the e36 wasnt really that fast at all. uhm...a new m3 can easily take an evo in the 1/4 mile if drivers were equal. new m3 does quarter in low 13s easily. the evo 7 is mroe around mid 13s to low.
Yes, i know you meant the E46 M3, that's why I told you that I group tested that car. Had the car for a day and might have bought it if it had been a significant difference from my old M3 (had uprated suspension and exhaust, so it was different from stock). Unfortunately the E46 was not faster, just more smooth and refined. Like I said, it is a crusier car and should not be compared to an Evo.
Figures from a magazine don't mean anything, the proof is in the driving.

how about off of a start without a launch? do you have to do an all wheel launch to get these times? how close would it be to an m3 with even starts?
ANYONE???
