Torque is a real measure while hp is a formula based on torque:

hp = torque x RPM / 5252

If you ever see a dyno chart with an equal hp and torque axis, you'll find they both cross at 5252. Torque is a more useful number, since hp doesn't say much. I could have a 1000 hp car if I could find a way to make 1ft-lb of torque at 52,52,000 RPM :headbng2:

Also a 300hp car will not put all that power to the ground without drivetrain losses first.

I think for everyday street use, an AWD car will be much better to launch and drive overall, but for a drag car w/ slicks, RWD is king.

oh ok...yah i know about the drivetrain loss...but the question was if the rwd and awd both had equal hp to the wheels...after drivetrain loss. so i jus picked 300 as a number.

The rest I agreed with you on. If you check other posts I've made on power loss, this is basically what I've said. That is why 1/4 trap speeds are higher for a RWD then an AWD vehicle when you compare identical times.
It's nice to see that you have advanced ahead of EvoSouL in thinking and reasoning.
You're a comedian, and as far as RWD vs. AWD, there's nothing new to learn from stuff I've already had known. I guess for some people they like to show that they are somewhat intelligent by repeating what others say...
right on dude!

Well ... Just for the records !!
The Weight, Hps, AWD , RWD, ...
They are all configurantions to be consider in a race, it have to be balanced. Not just lots of Hp with a great weight and a RWD .. That'll just don't work at all. But If you change into an High Hp car with moderated weight and an AWD system. It'll rock in Drag Racing. Depends of what kind of effect you want to produce in the crawd.
I would say buy an cheap car and ****ing destroy it .. so .. it'll be a hell of a good drag car ..

Whatever or not, config an car ( drag or not ) it's an art. Cannot be like RWD is good AWD sucks !!!

That's my oppinion

What is yours ??

( sorry, if I get wrong in some english. It have been 5 years what I don't spoke english )

What about the AWD systems that can transfer nearly 100% of the power to the front or rear as needed? No wheelspin at launch and all of the power being used as effectively as possible... sounds like a great combo to me.

Basically it has a huge turning radius.... I don't even try to make U-turns which are 2 lanes wide. There's a shopping complex here that has a hairpin bend and I always end up in the other lane if I don't use the handbrake. But when you're in motion the speed at which you can make lane changes is simply astounding because of the AYC and the steering feel which has absolutely zero play. Very sharp.

Cheers.
