Wassup Sk8boardIL! Long time no talk on this board.

Well, here are the Duc modifications (not many):

D&D pipes (cheap yet louder than anything I ever heard!)
Ferracci Chip
Ducati Performance Vented Clutch cover
Ducati Performance Aluminum (Billet) extendable mirrors
Marchesini Mag Wheels polished
Michelin Pilot Cup series tires
Ohlins damper

Never raced a blackhawk, but I did race a R1 once. Had me off the line (obviously), but considering the Duc's torqui midrange I kept up pretty well. Ducs are usually more of a roadracing bike, SBK champs for some many years now I lost count.

I never dragged my bike, nor intend on doing so. I do road race it quite often, as well as my evo. You might catch me at most TeamPromotion events, well, almost all (except for Mosport and anything over 5 hours from where I live).

Thanks for the compliment, mitsuevo, alot of people were impressed with it (although most didn't even know what the hell it was, except for that the steering wheel was on the opposite side). My best time was 13.124 at 107 mph. Pretty good considering I hadn't turn the boost up, nor intended to that day. I had no reason to break my car, so I drove it pretty calm, yet agressive. I tried launching at different rpms, and I now realize that the evo is definetely not a good car for dragging considering the amount of power it looses on take-off (well, I didn't jump at 5000rpms like some people do with their evos).

PJal84, don't feel bad. I would have tsaid the exact same thing...

Lanceroz84, that guy definetely had a better reaction off the line, it sounded like he launched at 6000rpms or so, and I know if I had turned the boost to 1.3/1.4 bar on the evc, dropped tire pressure to lets say 15-20 psi, and had launched at 5000+ rpms he wouldn't see me. Then again, I have an evo, and the last clutch I ordered cost me over $500 shipped from the UK, and it seems like clutch is the weakest part of an evo. Some people go through clutches on their evos every 8 to 10K miles, and I now know that a clutch job on an evo can be a pain, specially when removing the bearing (what a ****in pain to get it out). I don't know if you saw any of my other passes, but the first one you saw was my best run, considering it was the only one I really launched hard. After that I made another two passes: 13.3 and 13.8 launched at lower levels and shifted earlier. Still very good for 14.7 psi boost.

CharlieM, I had the car in Florida at first. Kept it there because insurance is cheaper, it's a clean air state (emmissions free), and I get less of a hassle for driving such car considering its Florida (the state says it all!).

Yes, I've seen hondas doing 9s and 8s on a quarter, but its a honda (no thanks). well, maybe an NSX.

Guys, when you finally get your evos, go to an EMRA or Trackmasters event rather than a bull**** Import Drag event of some sort. Make it do some turns, feel how your car handles, learn how to really drive your cars rather than just speeding down a straight line everytime an Integra, with a farty exhaust system, pulls up next to you. Don't get me wrong, nor consider me a hipocrite, yes do take it to the drag strip to find out your quarter, your 60time, etc. Great if you go to Englishtown and weigh your car after making a pass, see what type of weight your dealing with. But do it once, maybe twice to have a comparison (weather changes, etc). After that, either go to car shows or show off your skills at solo runs or at a track like limerock, pocono, Watkins glen, mosport, etc...

regards to all,

Lee

EvoSoul, their's no reason for you to be offended. I first said that I know hondas that are doing 8s and 9s, and to tell you the truth, I don't think there's a better engine elsewhere. Honda is a true leader, just see how they do in CART series, Formula 1, World Challenge, touring, etc. They kick ***!

My only beef with Honda is that in my State (NY), and I suppose alot of other states, you see kids with Hondas trying to be fast. I know some are, but the proportion is extremely unbalanced. I have a friend with a supercharged Prelude, another with a turbocharged civic, and I give props to these guys since their cars are trully fast and perform, don't just look like they perform.

Problem is that aftermarket parts (performance) are cheaper for Hondas then any other car. I knew Hondas were the ultimate rice car when I picked up a Summit catalog 2 years back and noticed they had a section dedicated for honda parts. WOW, a muscle car performance supplier, one of the largest, selling honda tunning parts. Honda is out!

I drive around daily and I can count at least 30 to 40 hondas (assorted) with some sort of performance or euro concept installed to their cars. I hate the way they sound, some people like it, yet I get annoyed everytime I hear a Honda pull next to me wanting to show off he/she has an exhaust. A tuned exhaust sounds quiet, yet I respect that qualitative sound. For example, I have an HKS Hiper on my car, sounds quiet yet agressive, fine tuned, performs (the most important part), to me there's no better sound (except for maybe formula 1, SBK, and downshifts on WRC). Now, here comes a 96 Civic Si, with a Blitz style muffler that sounds as loud as thunder (and farts on downshifts), some super low springs where the person can't even pull in to a gas station, clear rear and front lights with that little blue neon Honda emblem (god I hate that!) and neon wiper thingis (dont know what they're called, I'm sure people know what it is), with a silver tint job, bright *** fog lights that literally blind you even after you made a turn into a side road, and a type R sticker.

Well, you get the point... No thanks Honda, except for the NSX or a JSpec Type R, you can keep everything else.

sorry if I have offended you yet again, certainly didn't mean to.

Jerry Garcia from The Dead?

Yep, I only wish they would sponsor me here in the states. Can't speak Japanese, or else I would be like Craig Paisley calling Japan asking for money so I can have a 9 sec Evo. :headbng2:

For those who don't know Craig, he had that white Supra that went 8s in a quarter. He crashed it at 160 mph last year. Sad sight, visited him in the Hospital. He's ok now, considering he's got one a real hot lookin girl, WOW, turns heads trust me.

OH, yeah, that's my dad. Actually, someone told me he kinda looks like Chuck Norris for some reason. When he shaves that beard off, someone else told him he kinda looks like Charles Bronson.

To me he just looks like a dirty old man!

Couldn't have said it better myself. It's too bad i'll have to contend with all these morons were I live. But I would love to take a piece out of that damn mkiv supra this one guy is always braggin about. Only wants to race people from a roll....right....lets see you go fast and turn at the same time

It's like that here in Toledo Ohio too. I can't belive how many ppl I see blaring their corney exhausts with bench seats on their trunk. Trying to act hard. I really want to take em out but I know I can't I guess i'll have to deal with it until next year...(most aren't worth the gas though)

Honda definately have some of the best engineers, but it does get annoying when some punk comes up to me and asks what I ran in the 1/4 and what I've done to the engine. I just tell them it's stock, except I ripped the interior out and welded a cage in... that usually get's a blank stare

Most hondas on the street are these punk kids, but at track events, there's usually a ton of Honda's with respectable drivers... enough for us to have started our own race class called the Honda Challenge
