My car at Queens Show (ImportXpression) 3/30
Good points
Okay Lee,
I see you point. You actually know how much
a nice conversion would cost, so it doesn't make sense
to try to produce one when an import could be had so easily.
No, I didn't know that at first, but the point of a forum is to
share information. If I had said I was just kidding in my
first post, would that have changed anything you would have said?
But I didn't, parlty because a part of me wasn't. It is also
just that some of the responses were, your'e a poser/loser/
handicapped idiot, makes me think that anybody who has a difference
of opinion will obviously get flamed. Especially if its different from
someone who is fortunate enough to have a real Evolution.
I've learned something, I just could have done without all the extra
remarks that went with it.

Steve_C, glad to be of help. Don't worry about it, at least this time I really broke it down so that for future remark I'll just link people to that explanation rather than doing it all over again.
GPTourer, the reason why I attacked you on my first post was because I thought you were attacking me. I believed that you said spending so much money on an evo is ridiculous when you can have a mirage done for much less. You also said that a RHD car would give you probs at pick up windows, which really had no foundation considering that if you had one you would make all sacrifices necessary in order to keep your unique and beautiful machine. You also said, "viva la mirage", and I thought that this remark wasn't necessary, nor needed as long as you got your point across. I thought you meant **** the evo, a re-modelled mirage is way better.
Lets just put our differences aside and begin talking about whatreally matters, tech stuff. Maybe I can give you some insight on your future project, and maybe even help you get the engine you need. I've gotten people motors in the past before (couple of type r and 3s-gte toyota engines), so I could point you on the right direction for you to get a good (not abused) Jap Spec motor, maybe even wit a ralliart ecu.

LEE

do however, still believe that a front drive Mirage with a 4g63 would
be a lot of fun, and I could definitely shock some people down here.
I wouldn't have to put an EVO body kit on it, hell just making it look
like a MR sedan or Cyborg coupe would be cool.
And I do think i could get it done for less then your friend's 20K+ copy
but that's okay. I never said spending so much money on an evo is
ridiculous. He probably did it piece by piece as he could afford it, and
but not have been able to come up with 25K right away to import one.
If he's happy then so be it.

attempt at humor.

accused me of hallucinating and making up arguments about you.
The same should apply to my posts as well.

funds between saving up for my seven and my ongoing DSM project
I will look to you for guidance. Thanks for the offer.
In other words, STFU with all the BS and bow down and listen to a real Evo owner here in the states
mirage conversion ...
Lee, you got more **** done to your car, as well as more knowledge then some other racist Evo owners

Cool, GPTourer, I'm glad we're finally on the same chapter. It's good that we were able to end it on a good note, unlike some people I know who have argueed with me on this board and basically ended the argument with a big go F yourself.
EvoSoul, you're definetely right about racist evo owners. Some can't take other people's opinion, and when they hear something that they think is plainly absurd, they just hit you with the nastiest remarks known to men. They think they are the absolute and final word on evos and anything related.
Matter of fact, I only spoke w/ 2 cool evo owners in this forum: MichaelK (awesome ****in hardcore german), and this filipino I met a few days back. Other than that, some have been real dicks (Claudius the moderator who knows it all), and a few that took the oportunity to throw rocks at me once they saw that someone else had taken the initiative. Other than that, I really like this forum.

LEE

jigga, that's awesome that you've been able to bring over an Evo V and legalize it. You have done what very few other have, but many would love to do, me included. It would be a shame if you were to become offended at someone or by what someone said and stop posting on this forum, because you've had a lot to contibute.
On the matter of Claudius, I really don't think you should take him that serious judging by his history of posts. Why am I sticking my nose in something that doesn't concern me? I guess I'm hoping to defuse a situation before it gets ugly. Both you guys have had a lot to offer to this forum. I hope to see this continue. Cheers man.

good job on getting an evo into the states and having the liberty to drive one daily Lee! ive always wanted to import an evo5 but never knew how to do so and had no money *sigh* but after i reading your posts, i at least have a small grasp on the process of importing an evo5
I was also wondering how long you've had the car and how you take care of it (engine, transmssion).....

Evo Dan, I'm hoping that I didn't wake him up.
Don't get me wrong, tHe guy has alot of knowledge on the topic of evos, yet he claims that everyone on the MLR are stuck ups with feelings of superiority b/c they think that their knowledge on evos surpasses anyone's expertize, when he was really saying to me how much of a hipocrite he was because he acted the same way when evo discussions were held on this board. In the MLR he was polite and asked questions, here he's maestro know it all evo pro guy; noone can phase his knowledge. PLease, just let him be, don't point him towards me, or this discussion, because I think this time I'll really stop posting if he comes at me again like he did the last time.
phasedout, I've had the car for about a year now, and I do all the work on it myself. Pretty simple to care for, although abit more complex then your average vehicle considering all the other fluids that go on it. I change the oil & filter every 3K miles (use mobil 1 15W50, and I try to get a mobil 1 filter when possible, otherwise fram's the choice), AYC fluid every 18K miles (getting ready for that next weekend, got the AYC fluid from Kempy's in New Zealand, thanks Mike). Trans, transfer, and diff all take pretty much the same oil (although some would arguee against), hypoid that is (AKA gear oil), and for that I use castrol syntrax. Spark plugs I get from HKS (iridium plugs are pretty good), and anything else is just plain old mechanical work. I changed the clutch a couple of weeks back, pretty straight foward job, with the exception of the clutch bearing (was a ***** to come out). I got a workshop manual, as well as any other info I would need (like chassis cross measurements, color codes, parts list, etc.), just in case I get stuck on a job. For example, after changing the stock flywheel for the one I purchased from Takakaira (JUN Flywheel), thanks to the book I knew the correct torque settings on those bolts when replacing it with the new one. Basic tools are also necessary, and a few you'll need that maybe you can borrow or rent like an engine hoist, air compressor, impact gun, a smaller gun, you know, **** you hardly user (unless you're a mechanic or just live for cars, or both, or you sell tools for a living, then you're a tool).
If you're gonna own it, get everything you need to be a true owner. Learn all you can, and even a bit more about your vehicles. Knowledge is power, and can definetely save you money when you can easily diagnose your car for simple problems. Don't be scared to work on your vehicles when you get them (or for those who have them). Even if you break something, at least you learned a valuable lesson about your car.

LEE

Benzo, I'm usually around there, well, actually by the water. I won't be going there this week cause my girl's PMSing (which equals no sex). We go there to basically just f**k. I know, some people might say "you cheap bastard, take the girl to a telie or a hotel." Well, I hate the way motels smell, and I hate the fact that you gotta walk into tru the front when you go to a hotel. I like being discreet, and I love freekin it in my car. It's enterntaining, after we're done, watch a movie, then get it on again, finish the video, etc. Can't help it, I'm a car freak in every sense. It's delicious!
Dang jigga bro,
We all know you a
, but do you really need to keep shoving it in our faces??
Some of us (speaking for myself) are struggling with other bull****...
btw, where can I pick up a filipina chick like yours? she got a sis or hot looking cousin? hahaha

Alright, I really don't consider myself no
, sometimes all it takes is a coke and a
. EvoSoul, she's got a sis, older and married. I met her through a friend, and instead of becoming friends, we became friends, if you know what I mean.
There's only one sure way to get hooked up as such, and that is tru friends. Girls really don't just talk to strangers (well, at least the nice ones) I've noticed. Plus, we usually **** up when we approach unkown girls, specially in public places. Familiarity and the ice-breaking introduction, with a good post conversation, some smiles (don't forget the coke), well, I ain't no
, but I can sure play
like a mothe****a, yet I never had a jump shot.
My advice is keep trying, you'll strike gold (I know I've had at least 3 times)...

jigga, I've been gone for a while and been busy, so haven't had time to reply, two things:
1. I'm not German, just live here, I'm Finnish.
2. Reg. Claudius, don't let him upset you, he doesn't mean what he says he just winds people up every now and then, he doesn't really mean it. I've met him and he's a really nice guy (if you read this Claude, I meant to say that you're a cheap hooker
) just don't take it seriously and with a pinch of salt. Quite a few people on the MLr are ****** infact, there's some nice ones but the ***** factor is very high there, especially with the people that run, they really are stuck up little nobodys.
