Mitsuevo, great pictures man. Already saved them on my hard drive. Thanks!

I read the post on the mirage board, and I'm sorry if I ignored you or just didn't seem interested. It's just that I get so much hassle for it, like Eric said (jspec4g63), and some times I just can't deal with questions like "How much was it to import it?" or "How did I register it?" or "Where did it come from?". Sometimes I get annoyed at that. I heard these 3 questions over 1000 times at the Queens show, and for some reason now even when I pull in to my local 7-11 I get someone to stop me and ask me questions.

Again, I appologize for not showing interest. Most of the time I get people who really don't know much about the car, they want to seem like they do. Next time you see me in one of our local events, just let me know who you are and believe me we'll talk for a while.

regards,

Lee

Most hondas on the street are these punk kids, but at track events, there's usually a ton of Honda's with respectable drivers... enough for us to have started our own race class called the Honda Challenge

Couldn't have said it better myself, KK. This is exactly what I mean, and these are the guys that I respect to the fullest. I remember picking up a Sports Compact Car Magazine about 6 or 7 years ago and seeing some guy in a honda breaking the 10 sec 1/4 record at the time with his civic (sorry for not posting his name, I forgot). Honda has come very far in this game we play (well, I played), and by far the manufacturer that has excelled the most on the import drag scene over the years killing all the competition, outperforming with R&D, marketing, sales, leadership, etc. Honda will continue to dominate the import drag scene, while Mitsu and Toyota will concentrate on what they do best: rallies, toyota atlantic, selling camrys, etc.

Sk8boardIL, New York has a couple of nice twisty highways like the southern state in Long Island, and the Jackie Robinson going to Brooklyn. I love taking my bike down the Jackie Robinson, can really drop my knee at some of those turns.

Although, I never reccommend driving aggressively on public roads. Not that you might loose control and hurt someone, that's not what worries me. My main boggle is the ****in police. Been getting hassled left and right lately for some reason. The other day I was at Deer Park Ave. and a cop arrested me b/c I forgot my license at home. Took me in, made me pay 100 bucks bail money, gave me a court date and the whole nine. What a *****! Had to leave my evo unattended in the middle of no freakinwhere while this bull**** cop took me in. Came back and there was a parade of supras surrounding my car. My first reaction was that they were planning on stealing something, most likely my wheels, but it turns out they were just admiring the car.

My dream is to form an anti-cop organization so they would stop harrassing people just for being young and driving a nice car. For those of you that think it's a race thing, you got it all wrong. Actually, the young white boy driving a tinted integra is more likely to get pulled over than the black guy driving a lexus with 15 subs pushing 20,000 watts in the trunk, the spanish guy driving a toyota with a broke tailight and front light, and the girl driving her bmw at 90 mph. Is there a way to organize people like in Fight Club to fight these ****in pigs? I don't mean fight with our fists, much less guns, but fight with our minds. Wouldn't you think that it's better to see a public parking lot late night filled with kids parked just discussing cars rather than having these kids using or selling drugs, getting pissed drunk at some local pub or club, having unprotected sex, or just plain sitting at home wasting his ****in life away. Well, this was the scene at Deer Park the other day, and the cops would come in to these lots, break up what people were doing, then pull over people at random for no reason whatsoever. This is sick, and if God forbid I find out that I'm gonna die in a few months, I'm going on a rampage just killing any ****in cop I see in front of me.

Please don't take this the wrong way if you're a cop and you're reading this. I have several cop friends, some which go riding with me on the weekends, but **** all you ***** ****** ***, donut eating, late nite coffee drinkin, steamed *** smelling pigs!! You disggust me. These cops know that their lives are ****, they envy us who are able to have fun and enjoy our lives. They prey on people that are happy and taslking with friends. They abuse their power, and I think this is ridiculous...

I appologize to all moderators for the vulgar words used. Delete me if you must.

regards,
LEE

i definately agree with jigga when he said that there needs to be a some kinda org. for street racers, not exactly anti-cop, but just to make it easier to break into scene, have a stronger scene of being in a larger racing community so on,
and hey i hear you when u say cops could get on your nerves, i think we've all had our fair share, we're like easy targets coz they assume just coz we mod our cars we're all crazy road ragers with no respect to road laws and nothing, and hey, they think its a ton easier to power trip on us than say some 40-50 year old mid life crisis business man breaking every single speed limit with his benz convertible. i mean, like i dun need them to block off roads for us to race on, just dun stick their noses into our faces, let us do our thing at nite on almost empty roads where we wont "endanger" out road users, then everyone's happy (okay okay i'll be happier). i just don't appreciate the US street scene's image being all like "underground" and unorthodox or disruptive to society and stuff, it definately has blossomed into a full blown culture, and teenagers channeling all that brute energy into tuning cars is far better than alot of other american teenager passtimes.... my 2cents, no offense to anyone

You hit that one right on the nail..........that is exactly it........Jealous pigs. Just when ur having a good time ....guess who shows up. Never show up when a crime is occuring, show up only to report it occured. Funny thing is these guys are public servants they're suppose to serve us. They're more like predators, just last week this honored sheriff with tons of badges finally got arrested...scum bag drove around with prior knowledge of women with drinking problems, pulling them over blackmailing for sexual favors or time in the slammer. Oh yeh before I forget.....jigga so how did you get your car over here in the US?.

As much as I like the looks of the VII, I dig the V&VI specially a silver one. Great ride dude.

Ok all take care and be well.

Zeroize, couldn't agree with you more. I still rather have a more aggressive group of people, with cameras, that go after cops. I like to see online videos of cops that harrass kids for no reason, this would really make our vision a more public one, awareness and eventually response would occur. I justw ant to be able to drive my car where people get together to discuss cars without being pulled over every two minutes for no reason.

OK, EvOsix and deepcover6, I'm going to answer this question, and I hope everyone that's interested in knowing the details read this post before asking me yet again the same questions I've been hearing over and over again. So, here it goes:

Imported the car from RALLIART UK. Original owner was a girl (yep, crazy one too).

Did all the logistics myself, this is what I do for a living, although not specifically importing cars. Got a 20ft container, filled all the paperwork necessary to present to US CUSTOMS once the car arrives (form HS-7), paid US CUSTOMS taxes of 2.5%. Car took close to a month to arrive, anxiety was at its highest peak ever. I also had my Tank on the same boat, a retired British MV, although you don't need to pay taxes on such vehicles, nor any vehicles older than 1973. A special license is required to iimport military vehicles, you must fill form 6 from the BATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms). Had both vehicles come in through Florida.

Had my Evo titled in Florida, paid state taxes there of 6%, and I decided to keep registered and insured in FL since insurance is cheaper, and there are no emmissions required since its a clean air state. Had my tank titled in Indiana, easier to pass police inspection over there, then transfered it to New York where I paid taxes (after they refunded me Indiana taxes), insured it as an antique vehicle (cheaper, as long as you currently have another vehicle insured), and only safety inspection was required since cars older than 73 had no emmissions requirements.

Don't ask me the details of how I titled the car. All I can say is that the vehicle is titled as a Mitsu 4 door, silver, it's insured as a Mirage LS, and I call it a super mirage.

Ok, EvOsix, I'll put it to you this way: It's all about who you know. Or as my friend George would say, "It's not who you know, it's who you blow." I can tell you all the details of my venture, yet I would never reccommend someone doing it. If you try to import it yourself, then your stuck with the vehicle in case **** goes wrong. Remember, once the paperwork has been done, the person handling it inputs it in their computer, if for some reason they deny you the title, you'll never get it done anywhere in the US because it has now become officially recorded onto the DMVs computer. It's like having your license suspended in NY, go to Texas to get it there, and they soon find out that your license is suspended in NY. Can't run away, and you definetely can't hide, specially on a right-hand drive vehicle (just too obvious). Now, dealer plates worked well for Craig Paisley when he had that R33 from some Sheik of Saudi Arabia, so if you have access to such plates, WOW, you're the ****in man!

EvoSOul, to tell you the truth, insurance was a ***** at first. Two companies had denied me, one actually accused me of contrabanding the car into the country, like I was some sort of terrorist smuggling AKs and JSpec cars into the US. Then again, it's insurance, there's at least four or five brokers evry street you go here in the States. Easy, they deny you, you tell them thanks anyway, walk down the block, and try again. The third company has not let me down yet. Hopefully it will stick for good, but I want to see who can fully insure the car in the near future. I do garage it, and it has a cliford alarm with all possible gadgets added, yet I still have nightmares of people breaking in my garage and taking it even though I live in Suburbia heaven.

regards,
LEE

Just thought I add this to the collection. Try running from this guy (except on twisty roads, I'll be fine):
