I work on a guys 04 ES all the time...

He's a pizza delivery guy, bought it in late 04...

130,000 miles....

Repairs so far:

Both front Wheel bearings (dealer only item, trust me on that)

3-4 Sets of front rotors and pads

I flush the Automatic tranny everytime I get near his car, its black fluid every 20K easily

Full set of rear brakes including drums

I did his first timing belt with water pump and all seals at 70K

Had to replace both front swaybar endlinks

Needed passenger side drive axle (also dealer only)

He has driven this car non-stop... No Mods, just a stock ES... Im waiting for the tranny to go out, ive never seen an auto eat fluid the way his does... The front wheel bearings went out at 90K, and they were a huge PITA to replace as well... Not a well built car in my opinion... He has more clunks and rattles than my Gutted 86 CRX track car did...

03 ES with 103,000miles. The only major cost for me was the suspension. My stock struts started going one at a time at 90k, so I went coilover. While I was at it, I had all stock mounts replaced with new OEM units. Coilovers+mounts+install= about $1500. I can't really complain about the upkeep. I only feed it Royal Purple since about 50k miles, Castrol GTX before that, with PureOne filters. It's had the tranny flushed once, last year. I bought a full case of Mitsubishi fluid to flush it again soon this year because of that sticking problem when it's warming up. I had the timing belt changed at 60k. Like I said, I can't complain. It even let's me know when the battery will soon be ready to change.

Did you ever change your tranny fluid? or manually shift your auto tranny?

'03 OZ Rally auto - 85k w/ all belts replaced, end links, rotors/pads (need rears NOW!), struts (have one yet to get), and a tranny flush. Only problems have been the Crankshaft Position Sensor (TSB item) - cleaned that area during the T-belt install & now an odd P to R grind/knock/noise while shifting with the breaks on (duh, cannot shift w/o the brake down).

I had a problem eating batteries. Found out it was a operator error. Wasnt driving enough in the winter to let the battery charge properly. Oh and the reverse switch in the tranny went.
