There's a thread on here discussing Lancer owners with over 100k saying their car is still running strong. If the $400 is for regular maintenance stuff, just cough it up and save for the GSX/GST like me!

 

5+ years and 38.6k miles later, I'm doing fine.

I'll say that the 2008 is a very nice car. It's not as sporty as the earlier Lancers (although once more suspension mods come out, it could get there), but it's a nice car to drive around. And the DOHC MIVEC motor gives me hope for more HP in the future with tuning.

At the same time, $400 is nothing when it comes to regular maintenance. If it was me, I'd probably spend the $400 and keep my baby running. But to each, his/her own.

 

Do you just use your Lancer to drive to the grocery store and back? LOL You've got to have one of the lowest mileage Lancers out there!

i've got in the neighborhood of 113k going on 114k on my OZ.

 

Yeah I have an 02 OZ and about to hit 93k, which is why I would like to swap my engine

 

approaching 90k on a 02 oz and plans are in motion to yank and rebuild the motor. It has been a great car nothing major to repair and love working on it!!

 

02 OZ and 76,000 and battery just died :/
