When I worked for Enterprise Rent a Car we had a lot of cars with the shiftronic type setups and they all were weak compared to a manual counterpart. If someone is really looking to be shifting the car on their own, manual is the only way to go in my opinion.
I keep reading all these people with CVT complaining about the "bogging down" effect they get. Doesnt sound like a fun problem.

2002 ES Auto 156600 miles. I just bought it from a buddy at work. We drive 150 miles a day. He bought it with 30000 miles and never had any problems. Just did the normal maint regularly . I just changed all the belts, plugs, coil packs, wires, oil and transmission oil....



and my system is too loud to hear the rpm usually.
