From reading a bunch of mileage posts over the past few months it seems as if the lancer looses mileage with time. i'm an 04 manual OZ with an sri, axleback, and mobil 1 synthetic and I always get 400+ on the highway (trips, all highway)

o it doesnt? man the manufacturer must be wrong then.

they say it cleans the fuel injectors but all it really does is cleans the carbon off the outside. it doesn't even run through the injectors. The stuff you pour in your gas tank breaks down in the gas and helps a tiny little bit flowing through your injectors. But a fuel injector cleaner works best when you use it the way i described it.

If you get crappy mileage change your air filter, spark plugs, run the seafoam and quit putting your foot into the floor. Try to maintain speed, thats the biggest thing, use cruise if you have no fine motor skills in your foot. I've read that maintaining consistant speed, instead of up and down you can get 10%+ better mileage.

I get 31-32mpg. Bout 320 miles and I put in 10-10.5 gallons to fill up on regular.

EDIT: I have a vacuum gauge and I try to keep it under 10 when I am cruising.

1. what kind of driving are you doing, in-town or highway?
2. do you have an auto or manual?
3. how often do you floor it?
4. what octane do you fill up with?
5. did you make sure to put speed holes in the body kit?

when was the last time you got "normal mileage" ?? Have you done anything to the car since then?

The first 4 items on that list can affect your mileage.

I am thinking that switching to lower octane has probalby effected your gas milages......try resetting yout ECU by disconnecting the negative from battery and plug it back in after 20-25 mins.

the kit could affect the aerydynamics of the car, but shouldn't affect gas mileage that much.

I have to wonder if the exhaust is causing problems .. "exhust 3" cat-back to the engine" - can you clarify that? Does that mean you have headers, downpipe, a free-flowing cat and then straight exhaust to the rear of the car? Or is that just a catback exhaust?

what brand of intake?
do you have a CEL at all? i wonder if you are running no cats, and throwing a cel and the car is running rich.

did you remember to plug the MAS sensor back into the intake?

hmmm ... weird.

Even when I had RRM header, buschur 2.5" DP, 2.5" test pipe + 2.5 buschur catback with muffler, i actually got BETTER gas mileage than stock.

edit: i also get better gas mileage with 87 octane than with 89, 91 or 93 .. so you should be okay there IMO

How many miles do you have? It could be a problem with injectors. If one or more sticks open a bit it could affect your mileage drastically, but then your O2 would throw a code. No check engine light? I know jiffy lube is not the best place right now, but they actually have a great (inexpensive) fuel/injector system cleaner in case any are gunked up. Not getting a proper spray from your ingectors will cause the fuel mixture to burn eratically.
