question for RRM? after the turbo kits are done for the lancer and after the V2, what is next on the drawing board for the 08? im not sure if i should just drop all my cash on a turbo or try and keep a little more of it and just pimp it out NA style. im not sure what more can really be done to get a nice amount of power from a NA lancer besides what has been done.

I am sure RRM will figure whats next once mitsu makes up their mind with what the hell they are going to release next. in terms of 2009.

2.4L GTS is going to need alot of help. I am waiting for mitsu to do the press release so I can begin a slow clap for the 11 hp with 400cc extra. I am just speculating but if that holds true it sounds like they are using the same exhaust components, the same 2" pipe, same super restrictive Exhaust.

I think like 4 months ago, Blacksheep was the one that said there is will be little diff between the 2.0 and 2.4. I think he was right. I think they have bastardized the GTS if all they can do is a few extra horse power. But nothing is confirmed yet. I hope they are just quoting a PZEV version or something and the figure for a regular as 180.

I'm more interested on the internals since the 4B11 has forged rods already. I wonder if the 4B12 will have forged rods. Maybe even forged pistons? Or nothing.

Well, I would take a look at what they offered for the older gens. In car terms there is only so much you can do without looking ricey. Majority, I think most is out. They got the jump on the competition. Thats what was needed. Intake manifold? I highly doubt it since the stock one is plastic. (Meaning no core exchange, meaning high prices). Maybe more cosmetic mods but what else is there? Not too much. If you want power go turbo, because most NA power mods are out now.

Just my opinion - GO TURBO.
No matter what N/A parts RRM puts out, it will never compare to a turbo car. If you had a V8 Camaro, you could make power with N/A mods like cams and heads and such. But on a little 2L like we drive, N/A mods will only get you a handful of HP.

The BEST WAY (in my opinion) of measuring car modification is this: dollars spent divided by HP gained. Now, just take this example:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Lancer HP on a Mustang dyno (based off factory 120chp) - 88whp
(All tests based on/done on same dyno)

My 2002 OZ with SRI, DP, HFC, axleback - 93whp
Cost of parts on OZ - roughly $1000
Dollars/HP - $200 each

Friend's 2003 OZ with custom turbo kit - 181whp
Cost of kit - roughly $4000
Dollars/HP - $43 each

So that example is pretty telling. You can spend $200 for each HP gained, or you can spend $43 for each HP........

And in case you think I'm a fluke, I also present ambystom01's story...
87whp on a car with intake, TB, IM, header, catback, fuel rail, high-compression pistons (roughly $2500).
His friend who had only an intake put down 83whp on the same dyno.

-----------------------------------------------------

Also, remember that no matter what you spend, you're only going to gain so much HP N/A. And it'll never be very much compared to the big boost of turbo.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

To answer the other part of the original question, I think Green Bandit is right. It'll probably mirror what RRM already offers. Ported TB, fuel rail, cams, head, etc. The usual bolt-on stuff. There's only so much you can do, really.

Thanks. My only regret is that it's so jumbled. I almost should have made it separate posts.

But the real question is why I'm worried about it.
