it was at around 3500 rpm. And I am extremely happy to tell you that it is a OK.

Very good to hear! 3500 is about where I was in the range when my belt snapped! Two lucky guys I guess.

 

Just wondering, when your belts snapped, how many miles were on your car? I'm about to 70,000 and prolly needing this done, but the dealer wants $475 to change it! Any of you pay this much? or did any of you do it yourself? I'm sure I could do it, just never really wanted to mess with a timing belt, the whole thing makes me kinda iffy. But if it would save me $300 or so I just might. Let me know please!

 

^Yeah, spend the $100-120 on parts and do it yourself! I didn't need an impact gun either...

 

I'm at 52k .... I think i'll do my own at 60k.... save $$ sounds great!! lol

 

do you buy your belts from the dealership or local auto parts??

 

Either way should be fine.
