why do you want OEM filters ? go with KN or Mobile 1 or something along those lines.

Really, you are lucky, here in Canada they are around $8. Are those really Diamond star filters or some other brands ?

Would you buy me a case ?

I have been reading up on oil filters and apparently not all filters are made the same way.

The big names like Fram, Quaker State and Pennoil are supposely all made by Champion Labs and are crap with cardboard ends and glued filters.

Ok, finally took the Mitsu OEM filter off and to my surprise it is a Denso as it is written on it and it has the Denso O-Ring seal !, but it is made in Thailand which leads me to believe that Denso has contracted out their oil filters to FULL(Siam Filter Products).

You think ?, I don't think so !

Clarcor vs Denso ...is about equal, Denso has more filtering surfaces so it wins hands down in my book !

I use AMSoil filters, oil, and fuel additives (for now, atleast until I need other AMSoil products). Needless to say, I am very impressed with the quality of the products and will continue to use them. Although I do need to get my hands on a new air filter.

I was not able to use my filter socket to remove the canister since the wall of the oil pan is too close to the filter, I had to drive a screwdriver through it to turn it loose. This is a dumb Mitsu design in my books !

What kind of filter wrench does Mitsu dealers use ?

if its that tight on youre cranking it down to hard when you change your oil. you dont need 1000 pounds of force on an oil filter. and is ANYONE using mobile 1 or K&N ?

The dealer changed the filter last time and in any case even hand tight with 3/4 turn becomes pretty tight to remove.

Mobil 1 and K&N filters are made by Champion Labs, in my opinion not worth the money and dirty oil is proned to leak back in the filtered passage due to weak valve designs.
