no that ended basically with the talon in my opinion. The evo still uses the 4g63 and the neon srt4 uses a mitsu turbo. Thats about it

DSMs were pretty much lasers, talons, eclipses, avengers, mirages, summits, galant, sebrings, and stratus. But I guess you could call mitsu sharing a chrysler platform a DSM.

The wing comment is more of a personal thing. I really think they are unnecessary for a DD. They are probably useful on a high speed road course though, but how many EVOs much less Lancers get up to that speed where a big wing is useful?

Don't forget the lancer is FWD thus making significant downforce in the rear useless and possibly problematic.

Possibly yes, has anyone reported on it? No There aren't any Lancers that I've seen running over 100 MPH for high amounts of time. So useless, maybe so unless once again you are on an interstate doing a constant of around 80.

There is a difference with no spoiler>low spoiler>high spoiler on the interstate. Anyone can feel it.

Besides, we all know half of the reason that anyone has a larger spoiler or vortex geterators is because it looks nice.

VG's only come on MR's but why do RS's or GS's get em because they look nice. I bet if we took a poll right now with the type of car out of the question "Do VG's look cool or not" I bet money most would say yes. Thats why you see "Lancers" with them. Thats why you see Lancers with "Evo spoilers". Not because they are trying to look like Evo's, it just so happens Evo parts fit a Lancer with ease and the quality is good and you can get a cheap price. $300 for a full carbon fiber spoiler that directly fits your car without any moddification?! Deal hands down! So what it's not going to add much functionality. It will help in one way at higher speeds.

I bet half of the people who own Evo's don't track their car in any way and half of those people mod their car still and all they are doing is DDing. Why are those 25% of drivers modding?

Because its a hobby, it gives a sense of accomplishment, and it makes your car look better.

No, i don't think so. We can use the same gasket for the headers. My friend bought a dc headers and told us to use the stock one for the car. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You answered it nicely, it boils down to looks and a hobby. I had a lancer ES, no wing, no nothing and it was fine on the highway. I highly suspect that the same people who think they can notice a difference between spoiler types (usually equivalent to having a bag of groceries in the back in terms of downforce) are either imagining it or have something else wrong with the car.

Dudes all I gotta say is that I love my car. I work on it almost everyday and I take pride for what I have. It may not be the fastest or cleanest but I sure do love driving it.

I forgot to mention i got RRM headers and used the same gasket. You can still use it, but it doesn't give you the gurantee there won't be a leak. Try uninstalling your headers and reinstalling them...ride around than take off your headers and you will see a burnt gasket.
