Trunk problems

I have a 2002 lancer es. My trunk won't open using the latch under the driver seat and the key won't turn on the trunk either. Anybody know how to get into the trunk without destroying it?

You should be able to fold the rear seat down. Should be a button near the rear head rests you push down and pull the seat back forward.
