the first time i ever ran, i had CAI and a straight through muffler. i was hittin 16.5-16.7. once i put my rims, tires, and springs i was runnin 16.1-16.3. and now that my shocks are dead, im runnin 16.5-16.7 again.

cai and stright through muffler running 16.5-16.7 hmmmm thats intoresting I went with all the sclc guys and with all the mods they had going i dont think anyone ran under 17.0 i think there may have been one 16.9, i really wanna see that slip, just to see 60' times and etc. Not that im saying anything bad but damn thats really low. Ive seen a stock lancer with a hella good drive drive to a 17.5 i dont think cai and muffler would knock a 1 sec off, thats alot.

but also depending upon the track that they ran on, the conditions are different, anywayz... i heard our cars can hit 16.8 stock by pro drivers in ideal conditions, the best i hit was 17.3 stock... i am going bak to the track this wednesday night at lacr, and I am hoping to hit less than 16.9 with a header, downpipe, hi-flow cat, and a full cat back exahust. and maybe i'll have my weapon r intake in by then

It's entirely possible to run under 17 stock, just not at the crappy track we were at. The unfortunate part of Southern California is you have to choose between a track at low elevation with crappy traction or a better track at high elevation. Also, most of us are not experienced drag racers, giving us bad 60' times. 16.5 does seem a bit quick, as professionals could only get stock Lancers to 16.8, but it's possible. I might do some runs at Carlsbad this year, but I really prefer to keep doing what the Lancer does best... corner.

Whoa i just reread this and i read it now that you ran a 16.1 with just cai and muffler you only added springs tires and wheels with dont do anything but slow you down. Now i really need to see this slip.
