Question about wiring to my fusebox

I'm installing a dash cam in my Lancer, and got a kit to wire it to the fuse box. The fuse that came with the kit is 5A, but the smallest fuse in my car is 7.5A. The directions also said to use the ACC fuse, which is 15A. The kit is just like this one:

Amazon Amazon

Won't the 5A fuse pop immediately? Perhaps I'm not completely understanding. The kit does not say anything about which order to plug the fuses in.

you probably need to use a fuse tap so your new line will have its own fuse

The kit I got comes with one (I forgot what it was called, otherwise I would have mentioned it). I just don't understand how the tap will have two different fuses to it but will act like a fuse is supposed to. There isn't any specific order to place the fuses according to the instructions.

yeah it just shares the same positive source then splits to 2 fuses, 1 goes to the original circuit, another goes to the wire. On my evo I used the fuse for the lighter/dash/windows which gets power with the ignition. if you dont want to swap the fuse then just get power from the lighter

So in the tap, with two different fuses, is there an order they should be plugged in in the tap? You mentioned it splits to the 2 fuses, one to the original source and 1 to the wire. How goes it know which to split? I don't want the original source going over a 5A fuse when it's supposed to go over a 15A fuse, and vice versa.

I would assume the empty fuse socket is where your original fuse will go, and the also red wire lines up with the other fuse. But its also easy to check with a multimeter which fuse goes to the wire and which goes to the original fuse prong

I'll grab my multimeter and give it a go. The fuse jump didn't come with any fuses installed, just two empty spots and a few fuses.

ok. just look at where the red wire comes out from.
make sure the powered side of the original fuse goes to the common side of the fuse tap
