MLR closed their website
MLR closed their website
Hello, new forum!! As some you might have noticed the MLR closed their forum for whatever reason. Is there any people form the MLR here, that are against censorship and don't like what happened?
I agree completely with the point about not posting inaccurate information, even so I don't see how they can justify closing the board for so long.
What I'm really worried about is that the statement below implies that forum members cannot voice an opinion if it risks pissing certain companies off.
Having not read any of the related posts I'll not comment any more until I get more info, needless to say I'm a bit worried.
Ryan
Here is what the forum has to say...
=================================
THE MITSUBISHI LANCER REGISTER FORUM WAS CLOSED
It’s with considerable regret that we announce that this forum will not be available until 17th November. This action is in protest to the small number of users who continue to post derogatory and vociferous comments about companies the MLR wishes to have associations with.
The Mitsubishi Lancer Register committee tries its best to bring profile and revenue to the MLR through support from traders in the magazine, at track days, for special offers, for road tests and for information on new products. We are at serious risk of losing their support at the moment as a direct result of inaccurate postings and misuse of this forum. In addition, we have lost regular postings from several members now who are fed up with futile responses to questions and continuous slanging matches.
For the avoidance of doubt we have detailed the terms and conditions of use of the forum below. If you wish to support the Mitsubishi Lancer Register then please follow them, if you don’t then please refrain from posting on this site.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this action causes to the majority of our members and non-members, and look forward to your continued use of this forum as part of MLR membership in the future.

Hi Guys
The mentality they have on the MLR to censor words is one thing, but the fact that you are not allowed to say what you think about a tuning job that X or Y did on your Evo is revolting.:soapbox:
But anyway, this forum seems much better, more features and motivated people here. It will probably take me ages to figure out how to use all of them...

Yeah, seems to be a bit OTT to shut down the Forum. Why not just delete the thread. In the end we are all just going to find somewhere else to post and MLR will become a ghost ship.
Personally I have been impressed in my dealings with Ralliart, but if someone else thinks they are crap then so what. Each to their own.

Lee, I've got the same problem. I think the forum has some messages which are "official" and they'll always come before the general messages from "normal" people.
And how do you get those nice graphics below your name?

yeah this board has some really nice features, I think we need to work on the titles of some of the sections though, either that or we will spam certain places with off topic posts
Wonder if there is any place we can post suggestions
MichealK,
If you go to the User CP secion you can mod your profile from there.
Oli,
No idea about the date order, anything in the profile section?

Ants,
We have just been sending emails to people whose details we have. I guess we will see how permanent this will be once the dust settles....
If you have anyone's mail address drop them a line, I'm sure lots of other people can't survive that long without a board
