Got a ticket last summer two days before I exploded a piston. I was in bum%@#* Kansas coming back from visiting my parents in Colorado springs Co. Trooper clocked me at 126. Asked me why I was going so fast. Told him I was trying to get back to Tennessee. Said he would like to get me on my way- wrote me a ticket for 97 in a 70. It was only 159.00 bucks. Said if he wrote it over a 100 he would of had to take me to jail. I was happy to pay the speed tax. lol

yeah, the police radars are reliable, but y the **** would u want one? and anyway there is no laws (at least in INDIANA) that state an officer has to show you what he clocked you at. put it this way, until you are in a court room, the officer is always right. ALWAYS. THEY HAVE GUNS AND ARE TRAINED TO KILL PPL WITH THEM, LET THEM BE RIGHT YOU CAN FIGHT IT THE LEGAL WAY. (my disclaimer)

If ur goin over 100 in so. cali u can get slapped with an "attempted manslaughter" charge... a friend of mine did but the judge dismissed that charge cuz it was at 2am on an isolated road.

Mods: RPW header/downpipe, RMR short ram intake, RMR axleback

I've managed to hit 125 with power left. RPM was just above 5k.

With my new mods - 2.5" testpipe and 2.5" JIC Magic catback - I should be able to hit the rev limiter in 4th (auto tranny) and get to at least 130 on the speedo.

I've hit somewhere around 120 in my 5-speed, and I have a really tough time believing that any lancer close to stock is going to top 130 without a serious fight. The car was struggling pretty hard at 120, and every mph gained at those speeds is a fight...
I drove a friends rx-8 up to 145 (digital speedo) at very late one night, now that was fun. We decided we wanted to find the 148 mph speed limiter, but never quite hit it, 145 seemed fast enough at the time on a public highway. He drove it second to see what he could get it up to, but he let off after hitting 145 as well.

My 4-speed auto OZ has to be the slowest vehicles taking off from a dead stop that I ever owned, but once going my car can get to triple digits in no time at all.
I can easily get it up to 110 which is the fastest I had it at, but I don't see why it wouldn't go at least another 20 mph faster or more.

I've been to California. I've driven on the highways there around L.A. I was doing 80 in a rental car thinking maybe I should slow it down a bit and people were passing me up like I was standing still.
Looks like wreckless driving is normal in CA.

Yep, wreckless driving is common in Ca. Then again, that almost balances out the time spent in so much traffic you couldn't even reach the speed limit if you tried.

Ralliart has about 30-40 hp on regular Lancers and they top out at 132 MPH. Over 120, the car becomes a brick in the wind and you need way more power. OK, I'll go back to the Ralliart forum now

sounds like you could use some parts from www.roadracemotorsports.com

I've hit 130 a few times, one of these days I'll have my camera in the car so I can post up a video.
