How was anyone ever able to get past 120 in a stock lancer...i couldn't get past 115 in mine when it was stock, then after putting on an injen CAI, 2.25 inch test pipe and catback i could still only hit 125..only time i did 130 was when i raced a friend in his N/A auto 3000GT..and that was on the shoulder at like 4pm with three lanes of heavy traffic. That was going down a hill also...it was stupid and i don't go past 80 until after 11 now. Still beat him though lol. Now my clutch is almost gone and i think my rings are screwed. After like an hour of driving or just racing if i come to a stop my car will idle between 500-700 with the tach dropping down like every 3 seconds. Plus i found oil in my intake (blowback) so i have come to the conclusion that the rings are done. Want to get some RPW pistons and bump the comp ratio up to 10.5.1 though, then i would be a rel contender. As for handling i can do very well with the lancer...just have to take the time to get used to it. I will video tape myself after i put my new exedy clutch and tein springs in. or before the springs to show what an amazing driver i am...can take some good 70-80 degree s-turns at 60-70. Have dunlops on though so i stick to the road a bit better. Just have to tap the break at the start on the turn to shif the weight forward then hit the gas through the middle/end of the turn

Well, the fastest I've gone is 85, I've never had a nice straight road to go on. That road was long and lonely, but it had lots of ups and downs and turns here and there... nothing straight and level. I don't see the need to going faster than 90 though, what I want is more acceleration!

Seriously, I can think of worse, but yeah I didn't buy the Lancer for speed or power... or even handling for that matter. Wait, why did I buy the Lancer? Oh yeah, reliable and one of the most fun compact sedans to drive.

btw, i don't know if it is just my car but i can't go past like 6200 or 6300 rpm...rev limiter. Found this out the hard way a couple times in second gear so i don't know how you guys are going faster than 130 unless your coasting down a hill. Laners redline at 130 in 5th...

I've hit 117 in auto Lancer OZ Rally...completely stock powerwise....but i was draggin the heavy 12 inch sub and box in the trunk...i dont wanna go any faster than that until i get some good z rated tires and 17s. The wind makes it harder and harder for every mile an hour to pass by on the speedometer, nevermind the extra weight. 3rd gear in auto redlines at around 102, i shift into 4th and the car pulls but Slowlyyyyyyyyyyyy, this was on 80 west in NJ, morris county
