Yeah, I was gonna say I installed CAI with only taking out the stock air box. It was kinda a pain in the *** but all the parts should fit together the way you think it would. Mine didn't come with any instructions, just fool around with it, if it's an SRI should be even easier.

the stock air box?? In front of your MAS theres a big black box that has almost like a flat funnel shaped piece protruding from it toward where your radiator is. This funnel piece is how your stock air box sucks air into it from the outside. The big black box that it connects to is your stock air box. There should be clips on the sides so you can open it up and change the filter when necessary.
At any rate....take that entire assembly out....its held in by a few bolts and some plastic clips if I remember correctly. Be careful not to break it if you ever have any ideas about putting it back in.
Disconnect the MAS from the stock air box on the front side. Then disconnect the rubber elbow on the back of the MAS that leads to the intake manifold. Then connect your new piping and filter with the MAS beging somewhere in the middle of the assembly. Tighten everything down, and your all set

and it was mentioned before but ill mention it again....its a good idea to unhook your battery anytime you do any sort of work on the car. Also dont be alarmed when you reconnect and start the car. The idle will most likely jump by itself to 3500rpms for a half a minute or so. Nothings broken, thats just what it does.

Just take the right sized wrench and a rubber mallet and tap on the wrench to loosen the thread and it should come off. I wouldn't suggest dousing it with any kind of oil based lubrecant or anything that reads, "flamable" because that might start a fire. I'm not positive on that but just try taping on it till it loosens.
