how to replace hand brake?

sorry i found out how to take out the shift knob, now i need to know about hand brake

I currently own a 04 lancer es, I dont like that plastic hand brake so im planning on buying one of those aluminum ones with the boot from ebay, but i have no idea on how to take this old one off...do i have to remove the center console to do it?

for the auto shift knob, just unscrew the 2 screws located in the front of the knob
for the e-brake, read my other old thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=119088 scroll to the bottom where i posted how i did it.
