sorry i found out how to take out the shift knob, now i need to know about hand brake

I currently own a 04 lancer es, I dont like that plastic hand brake so im planning on buying one of those aluminum ones with the boot from ebay, but i have no idea on how to take this old one off...do i have to remove the center console to do it?

 

i know this thread is old but coudl you help me?

for the auto shift knob, just unscrew the 2 screws located in the front of the knob

which auto know did you put in? how did the e-brake turn out??
