Help removing front seats?

Hello,

I imagine someone on this site has taken the front seats out of their US Lancer, so I'm looking for some info. I want to know how to remove the seats for some work I'm doing on my '02 OZ Rally (later I'll reinstall them). I'm keeping everything factory. It seems like it would be a pretty straight-forward thing to do (remove a few bolts, pull 'em out) but before doing that I was hoping to find some advice/instructions/gotchas/etc.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks in advance...

Its 4 bolts, you unbolt those, unplug the seatbelt indicator light thing (only on drivers side) and then you're done.

I just replaced my 03 OZ seats tonight with some Ralliart seats. The front seats are easy to take out. There are 2 bolts in the front of the seat. Take em off. There is another by the base of the b-pillar on the door side of the seat. Pop off the little plastic cover hiding the bolt. Remove that nut. The final bolt is under the center console. Open the lid to the center console and unscrew the two screws holding it down. After those are removed, pull up your emergency brake - makes it easier to remove the console. Now, lift from the back a little and it should pop off by pulling the front up. There are two clips holding it onto the shifter console. You can now see the final seat bolts. Remove that and pull up the seat and out it will come. Let me know if you have any other questions!

^-- good detailed instructions.. the hardest part is taking the rear half of the center console off.. if you call that hard work. lol. I got good at it after installing neons under my seats and putting in new racing seats. I can do it in about 5 mins now. Very easy. On a scale from 1 to 10, its a 2.

along with the removing the seats thing, I've read that the Evo VIII stock seats with fits perfectly into the lancer, no mods. Is that right?

Yes, Evo 8 seats are a direct swap. The Lancer platform shares the same interior, even though the chassies are different.

There is a thread just started for EVO rear seats for $200 shipped. Be aware however, even though they are a direct fit, the rear seats DO NOT split or fold down. So if you've enjoyed your 60/40 split rears in your OZ, be prepared to lose that by going to EVO seats. Best thing to do is go with Ralliart seats like me These are the same seats used in the European EVOs - so I'm told.

I think its only a direct swap if you have an ES, lots of OZ guys have tried but problems have popped up and they ended up just not bothering.

Yea no idea where to look up the info as I'm new to mitsubishi. I'm big on Toyota forums. Can you offer any insight to a newbie I figured this was better than cluttering with a new thread.
