Rear Bumper Install Question

I just recently got a body kit in the mail and decided to install it myself. I've already installed the sideskirts and just have a question about the rear bumper. Do you have to use the factory set-up that has the four screws that hook into the trunk? If so, it seems like I would have to take it off of my old bumper and put it on my new one. Is this neccesary, or is there an easier way? Also, if I do have to take it off, how would I attach it to my new bumper? Bondo? Super glue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

what kit is it? Is it a full rear bumper, or just a lip kit? If it is a full bumper, do you have to modify the rear crash bar at all?

If it is in fact a lip kit, I am guessing it will fit the stock holes, so you can either jack up the back, or take the entire bumper off.

If you're talking about the black metal piece with those spikey things, you won't have to use that to make the new bumper work right. You will need to drill new holes probably to get the bumper on correctly though...

SXTNYNR,

No, it's not a lip kit. It's a full bumper. Also, I don't have to modify the rear crash bar. It will fit right over it. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to secure it.

Ok, so I'll need to drill new holes in the bumper? Or the trunk? Thanks for the help.

OK, 2 person job... Get the other person to hold the bumper where it fit perfectly on the car. Then drill through the bumper and trunk area together and bolt up at the same time. Wah-Lah!

So, thank you everyone for the help. I was finally able to get a day off of work today. I put on the front and back bumpers, so my kit is officially finished. I think I did a fairly good job. I might go back and redo a couple things later, but for now it done. Thanks for the help guys.

kit looks ok from those pics. The front bumper where the peices meet the headlight are a little off. The scoop looks like crap. imo. If you wanted an intake vent for the intake you should got rrm's cut-in cf vent. That one looks real clean. *opinion*

Now you need some wheels...... 17"-18" wheels

I know, I know, the hood scoop is messed up. I installed right when I got the lancer and I have to figure out what to do. I cut a hole in my hood, so I either need something to go there when I take the scoop off, or I need a new hood. I think I'll probably end up getting a new hood, unless I can figure something else out.
