Heated Seats

The heated seats are for the Canadian cars and for other areas in Europe, but not the US as usual. If you look at your fuse box it has the spots in the fuse box for the heated seats and it has the relay system. I took the car center section apart and it has the plug to hook the heated seats into. Even under the seats has an extra plug for both heated and power seats. WE tend to not get the good options in the US. I have looked into what harnesses are needed to use a all OEM set-up, but it is starting to get expensive and very time consuming to install. If you want them it is much easier to get an after market kit and install them. The seats come apart fairly easy for the install. Or you can go all out and get the seat heaters with ventilators. That is the option I chose, since I am also doing the GTS special edition leather package. I was hoping to have it done this week, but because of work need to put it off another week or two.

Can the dealers get in Euro or Canuck parts here in the US?

I got ten bucks says that power seats, leather, heat as well as the autodim mirror and heated side mirrors available outside the US show up next year here. Sucks, I want all of that.

SOme Of the Parts Might

If Mitsubishi is like most other cars in the price range we will never see those parts in the US. Maybe in 4 or 5 years, but not next year. Honda and Toyota have always had things like seat heaters and power seats in their economy cars, but the parts never made it to the US. I imported the parts form Japan for the heaters in my 95 Del sol and it was pricey and in the end would have been cheaper to put aftermarket kits in with dual heat settings. Just get the Webastco kit for heat and ventilation. It is @500 for both seats and well worth it.

Is it possible to get the OEM heated seats switches? Maybe an aftermarket kit could be hooked up to OEM switches so it looks stock.... I am very interested in this. If the stock switches are obtainable, how much would it cost to have an auto costomizing shop do the work? I would pay $300 and supply the switches, does that seem like a reasonable amount to expect to pay?
