I "supposedly" have the 6 CD changer with the sun and sound package and the navi package. It's only a single slot behind the screen. How do you get it to accept more than one cd or was mine falsely advertised on the window sticker??

 

The sun and sound comes with a 6 CD changer. the Nav and Tech however, replaces that 6 CD changer.

 

You do however get the music server with the Navi...So it holds up to, ive heard about 100 CDs.....Yea ya gotta rip them to it but no risk of your CD collection getting stolen once their on there.

 

I went through that with my dealer when I first picked up my GTS. It said on the sticker it had 6 disc player, but I could only get one disc to load. I was kinda of pissed about not having all 6 and I got the dealer to throw in a couple free oil changes to make me feel better about not getting what it said I should. Hopefully your dealership is a bit better than mine. They knew almost nothing about the new lancers when they came in. I bought the very first GTS they got in off the truck and they basically told me to read my manual to learn about the car, because they did not know how to answer my questions.

 

Uhh, imo i think its retarded that you even got free oil changes. be happy with that. It wasnt false advertisement, its something that comes with the sun and sound but since the whole dash unit is replaced by the Navigation system with the music server you lose 6 CD capability and gain a whole server. Only downside to that server is that they wont burn MP3 discs, only regular CDs/burned CDs.

Do some research before you buy a car lol and use common sense when it comes to such a thing as this. If you see that a navigation system just took up the entire dashboard where a 6 CD changer would go, common sense would say "oh, i guess it gets taken out for the nav system." And yes, when you buy the first car before they even get to read anything about it, they wont know anything lol.

Im still hella dumbfounded that you got free oil changes for something like this.. stickers list what the ENTIRE package comes with despite if another packages components replace something in it due to incompatibility. Just be lucky i wasnt the dealer i would have laughed at you and sent you on your way.

 

Well thanks for easing my mind. I figured thats what it was but that is still not the right way of making window stickers. That specific car should have EXACTLY what that window sticker says or else it is false advertisement. Anyways, I already have 15 good cds ripped so all is well. Thanks again.

 

The car should have what the sticker says period. My Lexus and my finace's camry both has nav and a 6 disc in the same amount of space, so it could have worked. It shows that a dealer wants your business if they are willing to work with you over small issues like that. I am glad you don't own my dealership, becuase you would lose alot of business, in the area I live in people are used to getting what they want, when they buy something.

 

Yea, there is no need to "research" a thing...If this ticker says 6 cd, thanthere should be 6 cd player, the fact that its not where the navi would go is redundant, a 6 cd changer can go anywhere in a car, could be in the trunk...if its on the sticker it should be with the car....maybe nexttime you should point it out to the salesman and have them show you were it is in the car if you are unsure, at the point where its not there, than you can bargain hopefully get a lower price.

 

Go to Mitsu's site, configure a lancer and look at the asterix. It stats "Replaces head unit" meaning NO 6 CD changer. And man, i havent seen a trunk 6 CD changer ever since they started making the front units with them... thats hella old no one wants to go to their trunk to put CDs in .

If anything there is only one thing i agree with, and thats mitsu giving the option of a reduced price (basically exclude the 6CD changer that would have been there) when you buy S&S and N&T. Or they should build me a reverse RF 10sub enclosure for the opposite side of the trunk, then ill forgive them as if i cared in the first place lol.

To make things easy if youre so worried about having 6 discs in at once. Burn an MP3 with a folder for each CD and there you go, you can select the folder you want on the nav just as easy as youd select a CD, and that holds more than 6
