question about intercooler, air intake, turbo, and coil overs
hey so i'm finally getting around to building my car and i've been researching for months different companies and products for different parts and what not; and the list seems to be almost endless. i have a 2005 lancer es and i'm looking to buy an intercooler, air intake, turbo, and coil overs. i read that turbo forum talking about the rrm turbo, but because i'm a noob i didn't understand any of it. so i guess to start with, what turbo's do you guys / girls recommend? i was looking at the RRM 16g one, which looked really good and came with an intercooler which was cool; so does anyone have a turbo company preference they'd like to share with me? Also for intercoolers, i know a lot of turbo kits come with intercoolers, but would it be better for me to keep that intercooler or buy a seperate, if so does anyone once again know any good companies i was looking at blitz and ice vex but i'm just not sure. another big one is air intakes, injen, k & n, rrm i just don't know what to chose, any ups and downs to each? preferences? how about coilovers i was looking at tein but my friend said try and find hks because tein break a lot, is this true? i can't even find hks coilovers, does hks make lancer es coilovers? thank you so much for you help all of you once again. preferences, recommendations, ideas will all help me greatly in (for what seems to me to be) my biggest decision of this year.

Ummm..ok well firstly welcome to the forums.
Now then, your list is a bit confusing.
Generally an intercooler is part of a turbo kit, you don't just buy an intercooler and then buy a turbo.
If you have a turbo, you don't need an intake, infact you can't use an intake.
I would strongly recommend going with the RRM kit since it comes with everything you need. It sounds like you don't really know what you're doing so the best advice I can give you is to read up in the forced induction forum before you do anything. Putting a turbo kit on a car that doesn't come stock with one isn't an easy thing, it requires you to understand the risks and what measures can be taken to reduce those risks among other things.
As far as coilovers are concerned, you basically have four choices, Tein, Ksport, Megan and NEX. JIC also makes a set but they cost a small fortune and don't seem to be carried by a lot of vendors. Of the options, I would say Megans are the best.

o thats cool. thank you a lot.
so what i got from reading your thread was really helpful. I understand the whole idea of keeping the same intercooler that comes with the kit i understood that, but i'll be roamin around and i'll see like a company that sells only intercoolers, and i'll see an evo with like an apexi turbo and arc intercooler so i guess i was just confused but thats cool i get the whole concept...i think. and i know the process of putting a turbo in a car is ridiculous especially in an es i don't plan on doing it all by myself lol.
so about the air intake, you can't use an aftermarket with a turbo, why is that? or does the turbo come with one? guess i'm not sure how thats working.
and thanks for the coilover suggestions.

Evos use different intercoolers for vanity reasons and for performance reasons. Only the first applies to lancers, you won't max out the intercooler that comes with the RRM kit.
You don't use an air intake because the turbo kit comes with one.
