it looks like a nice project box with 2 connectors from radio shack. I would not be surprised at all if you just find a resistor and capacitor or somethin very similar in there. If anyone gets it, open it up and check it out. If it is just a resistor and cap, its way overpriced lol

Don't really want to start a new thread for this so did you guys just aim your HID's lower? Or do you guys have projectors for your HID's? If yes, where can I get them? I've been searching all over the place but can't find anything. Thanks!

The stock ones are available on japanparts.com for $1003 each side. Best bet is a retrofit with a good quality projector until some cheap aftermarket ones comeout (with cheap projectors in them anyways ha)

Lol alright then. I've seen some HID Kits where they claim the fitment of the HID bulb is the same as the OEM bulb therefore no glare or minimal glare. I'm 99% sure that's false but might as well ask, is this possibly true?

They'll make some projectors soon, guess we'll just have to wait for a projector to come out since I know that places like Costa Rica offer HID as an option or standard on their 09 GTS.

The only way would be to emit less light like a halogen. The housing is all the same so the direction of light from HID would be scattered like halogen lighting. If it had a shield on it some glare can be reduced but it is not truly effective compared to a projector housing.

I have projectors for the Lancer. $750 . These are basically Evolution headlights. email illycut@msn.com if you're interested.

Side note though, Has anyone successfully tried out this option 3?
I havent really started digging into it yet, but that seems to be along
the lines what I was thinking of.

Where did you get this information? I was at my dealer today trying to get them to disable the DRLs because I am installing the HIDs this weekend. The guy that was checking this out for me just got back from one of the electrical training programs specifically for the 08 Lancer. He was real kool about it, even let me go into the shop and check through all the menus and settings that are on their programming laptops. I didn't see anywhere where you could change lines of code though. All of the ECU menus looked more like info pages. Displayed itms like vin number, and CRCs for th ecu and other loaded program data The tech is gonna call his techincal support guy on monday to check with him on how to turn off the DRLs. I'm hopping that they can tell him how to do it.

In the meantime, if you can get me the info on where this code is s so that I can change it, I'll have the dude write it on a letter head and post it. that should help some of you get your dealers to disable it.

I'm not sure if this will work in all cases. I have the GTS, so my main concern is for my car. I assume that it should work. I can't imagine them changing the light circuits per model, and per navigation option.

So the Tech from just called me back today. He says there's no way to disable the DRLs according to the Support Line that they have. The guy on the support line doesn't know anything about those lines of code. They can only see whatever we can see on our navi units. I guess I'll be fishing wire for the DRL fix this weekend as well as finishing up my high beams. Hopefully going through the firewall wont be too difficult.

I actually am a vendor for HID kits locally and my kits come with a plug and play adapter for the DRL's on all cars that need them , Ive sold 2 kits for 08 Lancers and everything worked great , go's between the harness and ballasts(not advertising ) just showing the Plug and Play Adapter

At this point, I plan on tapping into the light switch, and use that to trigger my ballasts. That way I can turn the lights on and off. I don't like the idea of always having my lights on. Neways, just have to find the right spot that I want for my trigger. Worst case, I'll hook up a new relay right before the ballast.
