Painting middle of the bumper on Black Lancer
Hey guys,
Anyone has any clue what is the best idea to make a black lancer look like the Evo (Front bumper)?
I was thinking about painting middle of the bumper and the grill in dark Gray!
Any inputs would be appreciated?
has anyone done this on a black car or something similar?
Please post pics
Thank you so much in advance!

My lancer that is in the body shop from being in a accident recently is having this done. They said they could very closely match that dark grey evo x finish that is in the center of the front. I will post up pics when it's complete!
I would go to local sign shop and pick up a roll of vinyl rather than paint it.
Reasons I went with vinyl rather than paint:
1. did not want to worry about over spray
2. wanted to make sure everything was even (I have OCD) lol
3. vinyl holds up to rocks better
4. vinyl is easier to remove than paint
Anyway...I went to a local sign shop and bought a 8ft roll of vinyl for $15.00 (which was double what I even ended up needing). Then I measured mid section at widest length and height and cut out from vinyl, make sure bumper is very clean before applying. Peel away vinyl apply it to bumper with a squeegee like you would with tint. After it is all on, use an exacto knife to CAREFULLY trim edges to look clean. I did the same thing for bottom of bumper too, except that took more patience since it is rounded. For the chrome insert, I removed panel under hood so I could remove the screws that held chrome lining in. After I had lining out, I cut sections of vinyl and placed on chrome until it was all gone. Heres how it came out...I'm very pleased, and it is holding up like a champ.

Why make it look like an evo if it isn't going to perform like one? And I don't want to hear imitation is the sincerest form of flattery speech...if it's just to make it look better, the effort would be worth more towards some lowering springs and some wheels. Just my 2 cents...
