hope this is the right place to post this, ok i like the way the 09 has the chrome ring on the front bumper and i would like to put one on my 08 GTS, i noticed that luda says his lancer is an 08 gts and he has the chrome ring, but i emailed RRM and got a response from rob and he says its somehow part of the whole bumper. but he really hasnt played with it though. if someone knows for sure if it would fit please let me know. thanks

 

I'm pretty sure luda has an 08 evo X GSR. It is part of the whole bumper. If you want the RA look you can do this to your exsiting grille

ok thats the look im talking about, but luda was parting out an 08 gts and his had the chrome ring, it looks different than the chrome vinyl kit as in your link (i compared the pics). i pm'd him but no reply yet. so if i want it to be professional i need to buy the 09 RA bumper then? this is his topic : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...ior-cheap.html

 

I would probably try to get Luda's front bumper. It looks like he did a better job then the ebay one. It would WAY cheaper then buying an actual RA bumper from a dealer. I believe they come in unpainted too so it will be big $$$$

which part do you need to know if it fits or not. The chrome ring on the link you have is custom made, it doesn't come with the car. And being an 09 or an 08 gts doesn't make a difference.

 

So if I don't want it custom made will the chrome ring from the 09 fit an 08 gts? Or does it not detatch from the 09 RA bumper? Sry if I'm to confusing. Thanks

 

I'm pretty sure it doesnt detach--most likely part of the bumper.

I thought you meant 09 gts, I believe you have to get the whole bumper but you can ask on the ralliart forum if the ring can be removed or not.

 

sorry dogmag i didnt check my inbox until now. yeah i have a 08 Lancer GTS also, well between me and my fiance the trim your talking about is like here





its not a new bumper just simply trim that you can get from any auto place like autozone. it takes precision and patience getting it to bend right and i would recommend to paint the chrome piece that comes flat black along with the center piece so it will look right..ive seen other people do it the lazy way and just take the chrome and add it to the existing chrome frame imo it looks like crap if you do it that way

Yeah, definitely go for the DIY trim.

Seen plenty of lancers take that route.
