n00b questions : 4g94 swap 4g92 mivec head
I've been reading through the forums for a couple of days now and just have some questions about the conversion of a 4g94 to 4g92 mivec head.. Does anyone know if I'm going to have to relocate anything and if anyone has done this if any other problems arises in this transition. Also will this head work with my stock ecu in my 05 ES. If u have a build thread I would love to see it. Thanks
Im thinkin im going to use a standalone ecu.. with custom harness.. i was wondering more along the lines if are my cam gears going to hit my hood? Should i forged pistons and do a bore for more compression? or will my motor hold its own against the DOHC Mivec. I just dont wanna do this swap and blow my motor lol.
Your cam gears shouldn't hit on the hood. The swap has been done before and I believe they just used stock parts. So, to your second question, you can use stock parts along with a good tune but while you're in there (as a lot of people will suggest) just go ahead and put in forged rods and pistons. Then you know you're sure.
