letting oil circulate on warm engine?
Hey guys, i was just wondering if it was neccessary to wait a little bit before driving off to let oil re circulate through the engine at operating temp after turning off and starting back up (like after filling up at the pump). Thnx
the only problem is that my car doesnt come with a factory oil pressure/oil temp gauge, which rlly annoys me. im actually thinking of getting the greddy oil flter sandwich adaptor so i can run some aftermarket gagues, but im worried about the possiblity of it causing oil flow restrictions. has anyone installed one and have any reviews?
The 0w20 and 5w20 used in our cars will allow for immediate lubrication. In hot or cold weather. So there really isnt much of an issue if your operating the car normally. But some people seem to think driving a car hard as hell is the best way to warm up a car lol, not a good thing for the engine. Other then that. car is fine after the first 10 seconds. aka by the time you put your seat belt on and back out of the driveway. its fine
Synthetic oils are design to cling to everything, even if the car has been sitting for a few days or weeks. If you use conventional cheap stuff. The protection level isnt the same.

The pump will supply oil to your galleries almost immediately. If you are using a mitsu oil filter or something of the equivalent, then it comes with a one way "check valve" built into the filter to keep oil from draining back from the galleries to the sump. So once the car starts, oil is at the bearings right away.
