The factory Sylvania low-beam bulb I pulled out is a 55 watt bulb. I'm not sure why Mitsubishi lists the bulb as a 51watt. I replaced my low beam bulbs (#9006) with the Sylvania cool-blue bulbs, and I'm happy.

i have some hid lights..only problem is the wattage is 100watts is that wayy too much for the lancers? if i could turn the daytime runnings lights off i would for sure put them in..but having them on all the time i dont know if that would be good for the car..

but in my old avenger it had a 60watt stock and i put 100watts and iddnt have any problems but that was 8 years ago..

I got the Sylvania Silverstar ULTRAs for my High & Low beams,.. and I absolutely LOVE them!!! When they say 20% increase, they MEAN IT!!! The lows I got from a local store $50-ish a pair,.. and the Highs I got off of e-bay for $15 cheaper.

The Fog lights are a NEW model with the H11's, and Sylvania has NOT yet released their new model for those yet, but you bet,... soon as they do I'll have a set.

When I 1st installed my Low beams, I installed ONE only to see the difference on the wall of the store at dusk/dark.
The factory bulbs have a sorta yellowish dirty look,.. the ULTRAs were definately whiter,.. & much cleaner.

you can get LED bulbs for certain lights. EASY:

STEP 1: Take the light bulb(s) out
STEP 2: Go to an auto parts store and say, "I want these, but in LED."
STEP 3: Done

I want to put 80W bulbs into my low beams with heavy duty wiring/harness but am concerned whether the plastic housing can handle the extra heat emitted from the 80 watts. Anyone know if the 08/09 Lancer can handle that extra heat?

i have 100w bulbs on my fogs and they've been fine for 3 months now (12,000 miles). So i dont think wattage is a big issue unless you go like 200w.
