just taking a looking at the OP the lancer comes with a 55w fog light already. so if im not mistaken adding a 55w HID 3k kit wouldn't be a issue right?

i'm asking because when i had asked around on my maxima forums ppl told me that 55w in fog light bulb COULD burn up the fog light housing. anyone here have any experience with the 55w hid kits for their fogs?

watts is a measure of power consumption, not heat generation. therefore, you run the risk of damaging the housings by using 55w hid bulb/ballst kits in the factory fog lamps. i believe there are a couple threads on this forum about distortion and melting of the fog light housings with certain aftermarket hid kits installed. the hid kit will have a greater light/heat output than the halogen bulbs, but only consume the same 55w of power, which is why they are considered more efficient electrically.

no, you dont need it. if you are just doing a bulb swap, everything stays the same as stock basically. if you are upgrading to an aftermarket hid kit, you dont necessarily need the drl bypass, but you will just have to keep your headlights in the on position at all times or else they will flicker/flash/strobe repeatedly leading to premature ballast failure when the switch is off but the drls are on.

for you all you guys still looking for LED bulbs, ijdmtoy.com and search by manufacture. they usually come in a package of 1 pair of map lights 1 light for dome and 1 pair for license plate lights. I actually just ordered another set of LEDS for my signal corner lights and my front turn signals and back up lights.

Does anyone know if there are WY21W bulbs (front turn signals) in 3000k yellow? I'm looking to match the color of my foglights, cause amber doesn't fit well with 3000k.

the site below gives the complete bulb list for your car as well as any other car.

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

if you want a the yellow look your looking to get 3k

8k generally is a deep blue which isn't that great purpose wise. most people generally get 6k because it does have a more blue hint then the oem 4300k but still has a good light output at night.

If you want that bluish 8000k look, you should just buy the hid replacement bulb. For my 08 lancer, i have 9006 bulb type. The oem hid should have a build in ballast so just buy a good quality bulb since cheap ones flicker a lot

so, to actually answer the question that was brought back to life from september, the bulb for the oem projector lens is a D2S style. search that, plus your desired color temp, in eBay and you'll get what you need. ie. "D2S 8000K bulbs"
