Securing subwoofer box? Need input!

I added a single 10" sub box to my system and it slides around all over the place in the trunk. It's actually holding onto the carpeted mat pretty well, but it just keeps folding the mat over itself and its starting to damage the insulation on the bottom of the mat. I'm trying to avoid drilling any holes to secure it and wanted to pick the collective brain of evom. Any ideas, folks?

Maybe you can get a cargo net to hold it? I just drilled holes and bolted mine down. At least in SoCal you shouldn't have to worry about rust.

Velcro, dude, it's awesome stuff. You only need the hook part (available at any sewing/craft store). Get the sticky kind and put it down on the wood thing that covers the spare tire. It'll keep the carpet in place. Then I took some of the velcro hook tape, doubled it over (so hooks are on both sides) and put it between the box and the trunk carpet. The thing doesn't budge.

I used (2) bungie cords and kinda formed an "X" with them over the box, and it doesn't cover the woofer. The hooks go under the rear deck. I'll take a pic, it works real good.

The velcro thing sounds like a good idea too, however, I take my box out alot and needed something easy.

Same here. Especially in the summer on weekends. Velcro fits the bill nicely.

i used the carpet as a pattern, cut out the shape of a giant piece of MDF, and then bolted a hinge on one side of the MDF piece and then shot the screws through the box diagonally through the box. and made an appropriately size hole in the carpet. slid it over the sub and flat.

Bungy cords for me, but mine are different than retro is describing. Comes from under the rear seats where the brackets are (one on each side) around the base of both of the sub boxes I have. I can use them to hold other things too, like my bottle of windshield washer fluid. (I always carry a spare)

Try some cargo straps(found in home depot and the like to secure motorcycles etc) and hook it to the metal loops under back seat. Works great for me and nothing permanent or destructive to your interior.

i have a rear strut bar, so what I did is screw two screws in each side of the box, and zip tie the box to the strut bar.
