Go to an exhaust shop of some sort and tell them that you want to run the piece where the waste gate is to the downpipe and they'll bend some pipe, weld, and cut a hole in the downpipe and weld it in...

Just go to an exhaust shop and ask, really how hard is that?

 

As heard as it is to believe there are is no exhaust shop in my city. The nearest one is like 10 miles away. I was just curious.

 

Best bet is to call and ask then, at least get an idea. I would think it woul be like maybe an hour at the most.

 

10 miles? seriously? I could only wish for that back home... Try 30 miles... jst go to a shop and ask them...

 

first thing, peep you hand down the j pipe going from the header to the turbo inlet and see where the wastegate. on the underside of it there should be a peice of pipe bolted on that is open pointed towards the ground, go to a shop and tell them u need to get a channel welded from that to your stock downpipe near the braided steel flexpipe.

if you really want to get zippy, have them replace your downpipe with a 2.5 inch downpipe from turbo to the cat converter.

 

try to learn how does turbo works. Once you know how is turbo is spinning (exhaust gas) and why wastgate is NEEDED before turbo. Once you know those two thing you be able to figure out what need to be done to make the sound dissapper.

 

exactly, we know what we have to make that sound disappear because we know how it works. Once HE finds out how and why wastgate works, He is going to know what to do to make that sound disappear. Do you get what i am saying?

 

Boosting is great. I have spent the last hour just driving around and boosting my car. I love it!!! I get all excited when the turbo starts to spool...RRM did a great job!! They ROCK!!!

8 psi non intercooled is gona be crazy man!

 

Uh you shouldn't run 8 PSI without an intercooler, that's just asking for trouble.

 

I don't know if its going to be move at all, i think it might just move up to 6. I thought 8 was i little high as well. I won't know until friday...going back to RRM for a check-up.

Lancer2Show, have you been convinced to turbo your lancer yet?

 

i have always wanted to buy a turbo kit for my lancer for the longest time. i might just get the non intercooled turbo kit and leave it. i wanted to intercool it with a evo8 fmic. i dont really care about being too fast. i just want to achieve 200hp at least and thats all. plus i have a auto and i dont really want to invest on it much. the lancers not a bad car at all for a first car. its paid off and im only 19 so i cant complain. its kinda hard saving up money when you have a gf, work part time and only get 10 dollars an hr plus in medical school full time. my lancer should be boosted by aug the latest for sure. i have some funds already saved up in my bank.

boosted is always better..haha

 

Man, my car is auto, i have a gf, i make 12 dollars an hour and i still mange to get a turbo!
