Installing front license plate correctly.
Installing front license plate correctly.
I figured many people are and will have problems with the front license plates on the Lancer scratching the front lip of the car. Well, this happened to me, but I found a remedy to the problem.
The screws have this large sphere rubber boot that the screws themselves screw into. (Note you can remove the boot.)
Here is what you do to eliminate the problem:
Put on your license plate and screw in the screws. Keep screwing the heck out of the things. What happens is that the screws squeeze the rubber boots behind the bumber and the more you squeeze it the less play the license plate will have. So, I used my drill to screw the heck out of it and it never happened again.
Oh also, if you have scratches try using Meguier's Body scratch and swerl remover. Looks the same as the moroon polish bottle. It removed the scratches and made it back to normal. NOTE: If you use this or any scratch remover, make sure you wax the area a couple of times to prevent oxidation. This scratch remover is pretty strong but works GREAT! I highly recommend it. Good Luck!

Or, you can mount it using the lower holes in the plate. Sure, it looks a little goofy, but you can tell people that you're making sure that the radiator is getting enough air, or that you have a FMIC
Please read the READ ME stickied in the How To/Installation forum.
EDIT: I'll clean it up and move it later tonight. If you want to change/add the velcro thing or whatnot to the original post, please try to get it done before tonight.
