i officially have a beater as of today.. i just dont have Winter cuz im in miami LOLOL... (just bought a Ford Edge for my fiancee).. and we didnt trade in her mirage hehe) now i can proceed with my swap

Economy car = Lancer, Civic, 240,Celica, Scion, SRT4, Golf,Cobalt... Damm last time i checked.. these are all economy cars. and also the last time i checked.. all of them can be "projects" and @ car shows and tracks .. i dont see whats funny..
even the kid with the evo below you said he woulda did the same thing.. he's just insuring his hobby and theres nothin wrong with that.

I feel your "economy car" is something that if it gets wrecked or whatever it is no big deal. Now ask anybody who has invested over 1.5K extra on their car if its a big deal if their lip get ripped off that they just spent $700 on.
Also I doubt a car with an aftermarket turbo is considered an "economy car" any more.
But what you may fail to realize is, at that point it is no longer an "economy car" it is an investment...
