Progress Springs?????
Progress Springs?????
Hey all, I'm looking at some springs to lower my OZ and for a while I wanted eibachs cuz I know its a trusted name and what not but its barely an inch drop and for the money does'nt seem worth it so i checked out Progress since it seems to be the most popular amongst lancer owners. So my question, will there be horrible tire wear and negetive camber? I just don't want to be buying new tires every few months ya know. Any others I should consider? Let me know if ya can, thanks again all.
no chamber issues, no tire wear.
There will be some "clanging" though but that's easily fixed with some rubber sleeves you can get thru progress or just buy at the local hardware store.
Check out my install at www.mypron.com in the "MyRide" section.
and remember to post in the appropriate forums.. Try "search" as well and look in the install forum before posting the question that has been discussed a billion times =)
good luck and enjoy!

Progress springs have a bigger drop for the ES, which i own. and its one hell of a drop. and there isnt any camber, thats noticible kus i dont wanna be paying for more tires down the road. so you shouldnt worry with a slOZ

Putting the progress springs on will automatically give you about 1/2 to 3/4 degree negative camber, which ironically gives me better tire wear than the stock alignment. But I do highly recommend you get an alignment when you put the springs on, as they will most likely cause some toe-out, which is much more damaging than a little bit of camber.
You will not be disappointed with the Progress Springs. We sell both Eibachs and Progress. We feel the Progress Springs are a better value than Eibachs and don't worry about tire wear.

it may... I have an ES and if looking at my car from a profile, tha back tire slightly hides in the wheel well while the front is about even with the well. It doesnt look bad, and you dont notice it when the car is moving. It may actually be fine without anything in the trunk... I have a pretty heavy box back there, so that may throw it off some!

yeah. there was a HUGE thread about the progress spring noise and complaints. i for one had a huge problem with them... i had to get that insulator stuff which i've had to do about 3 times just to get minimal noises.
they are good for the price, give a decent drop(i thought it should've been maybe .5" lower, maybe even 1"), but theres a huge hassle of noises and everything.

Most of the people I know are very happy with the Progress springs. Some (less than half, to my knowledge) hear a little noise, but the spring actually does a good job of keeping the tire on the ground. Of course the ride will be a little rougher, but that comes with the territory on any performance spring. TO_Lancer loves his, saying he gets less body roll and that the tires grip much more than he expected.
most of the people i know wish they never bought it. i really hated mine, i was gonna give it to datenshix for free!!!! im really disappointed with the stuff rob be saying. ill no longer support roadrace. the badge and sticker are coming off my car.
