as far as im concerned and got from this thread... i do see how to connect the turn signals and parking lights.. but what about the wires from H1bulbs and HB3 bulbs...can anyone help with that?? cuz that HB3 has 2 black wires .. and i dont know which one is positive and which one is not... + my HIDs wont come till next week but if i do install regular H1s.. would that be waste of time .. or can i just simply change into HIDs with no problem later..

HB3 bulb? What are u smoking? Only bulbs in the cedia housing are H1, 9005 and the 3 wedge bulbs...

Plain rule of electricity is that one side HAS to be positive and one side negative. Doesnt matter which wire u make positive and which one negative as long as electricity is flowing through the bulb. So it doesnt matter which of the black wires u make positive as long as u make the other wire ground (negative).

Changing from H1's to HID's is simple as hell, as long as u know how to wire things properly the switch wouldnt take more than 10 minutes per side.

I finally rebuilt my broken JDM headlights and re-wired them myself...it took me a good 4-5hrs because i'm too scared to f* up the electronics in my car...i dont know me and electricity don't work well together plus my friends were over drinking in the garage so i was talking alot of b/s and doing drinking breaks with them but none the less i still did it and it works fine...

Although Kareems how to for the JDM Headlight install is easy to understand once you get behind the headlights and know what wire is what it becomes a snap...but there was one thing I didn't like about the install...its having to just twist the wires onto the H1 bulb connectors...

so i went parts bin shopping and i found a pair of these...

its a 3 Terminal Headlight Socket/Wire harness which is available through Auto Zone.

Here's what its face looks like...

The metal clips inside are perfectly far apart for the connector to fit but they wont allow you to put the connector in so you'll need a basic flat head screw driver and slide it into the slots/plugs to open them up a little. Don't stick the whole head of the screw driver into it! Stick 1/4 in first and see if the connector will fit if not then slide in the screw driver a little more until it fits snug.

The third plug uptop won't be needed so just cut off its wire unless you want to take your time taking it out. I just cut it to where there was no exposed wire and plan to fill it in with black silicone.

The harness should look like this with the h1 connector plugged into it.

Then get yourself an XActo knife or a strong scissor and cut slits in between the rubber stubs on the rubber housing covers.

Once you've done that wire everything up and plug it in and the back of the H1 harness should look like this when its all done.

An OEM look to your headlights to go along with Kareems How To

Thanks bro. I was lucky they were there...the only two that were there and they were in a box full of other harnesses. Its a good thing i bothered to go through it all.

I posted that 2nd picture which has the name of the part along with its part number so all ya gotta do is give them the number and they should be able to just give it to you or atleast let you know if they have em or not.

i <3 my JDM headlights! they really complete the look of my car

ok, so i just got a wireing diagram from school for the head lights here is what it says:

Left Headlight (driver side)
Red/Yel = Low Beam
Red/Blu = High Beam

Right Headlight (passanger side)
Pink = Low Beam
Red/WHT = High Beam

that should help make it easier for people in the future, i can print out ANYTHING for the Lancer pretty much. or any car for that matter. up to 2004 models

NM... ROFL @ me.

I'm so lost, ive read like 4 or 5 seperate forums on this subject, I just want a good working pair of jdm cedia headlights with that amber strip at the bottom. So if im hearing this right first i need thesecedia headlights than i need:
- 2x 9005 High Beam Harness
- 2x 9005 High Beam Bulbs
- 2x wedge bulbs
- 2x H1 bulbs

and this will give me a good working pair of jdm cedia headlights with black housing and to clariy thats not with HID right?

I'm not mixing up two different topics am I?
