the basics or super streets?

okay folks... I finally got a 1g saved up.

i got some 18s for my car and i'm ready to put them on. But in upgrading wheels one should always upgrade suspension since both make a pair..anyways..

Should i get the Tein basics or should i get the Super Streets.

I'm a daily driver and i don't need to be adjusting for tracks and stuff but still i wanna have some good suspension.

what's the difference really, besides being able to adjust the damp. what's the ride like on the basics compare to the SS's

please let me know, thanks

i have never been in the SS but i do own the basics. if u don't care about changing the damping force than i c no reason at all to get the SS. the ss setup is from 0-16 0 being the stiffest. i believe the the basics are about 8-9 compared to the SS. i love the basic, i would have gotten the SS if i had the money. the ride is stiff of course but that doesn't bother me. when goin around corners its a totally different machine

If your a daily driver and don't need the adjustable dampening, then get the basics, and save yourself some cash. Hell if your just doing it for looks and a stiffer ride, just get springs, and when they eventually come out, some new shocks.

Personally, get the SS. It's only a couple hundred more. And the ability to put them on full stiff and race around never gets old.

i have the SS, and I have driven a car with the regular, there really is not too much difference except at taking a sharp turn at high speeds. that is about it. the SS have the edge for that.

You only need the SS kit if you want to be able to adjust the handling characteristics (like how easily you can drift). But since you said it's for street driving, you should be plenty happy with the Basic kit. Just set the ride height however you like it, get an alignment, and go! People who go with the SS kit (like I did) end up adjusting ride height meticulously for best balance and handling, then play with camber settings and tire pressure trying to get the best handling and control to win races. I was even about to get even stiffer springs and camber plates when I ended the project.
SS = real tuning
Basic = Just lower it and make me a pimp ride

On a side note, I just sold my SS kit locally for $800

Even if that's true, you won't want to excede the Basic kit's limits anyway. My car was slammed extremely with 30mm left on the SS kit! Had to raise it up like a half inch from there just to keep from getting inverted suspension arms.

well i see...

well price difference is the big factor here also. Cause both setups perform the same from what i've read. Just one allows you to do a whole hell of a lot more adjusting but just for racing on track purposes.

Locally!!!... Just got some prices.

$1050. for the SS's...
$ 775. for the Basics!

I can probably negotiate the basic price down, at another spot but the SS's stay there.

If you're not racing, you'll be plenty happy with the Basic. Save your money and get something else for your car.
