Anybody else like these OZ Wheels?
Hey everyone. I keep seeing a lot about the OZ F1 Racing wheels, and I'll admit, I like them. However, when I bought the car, I bought the wheels it came with, meaning I like the way they look. I think that the stock OZ wheels are a good design and have a nice, if not agressive enough, appearance.
I saw on OZs site a set of wheels that looked remarkably like the ones already on the car, but larger. OZs site said they would not fit the Lancer, so I walked away unhappy.
However Tirerack has them and says they will fit without problem. The wheels are OZ Crono Evolution 17". I think they keep the nice look of the stock wheels without the unfortunate lack of size. These wheels are more expensive than the F1s, as they are around $263 each. Tirerack reccommends 205/45-17 tires, and they offer a few in the 400-500 dollar per set range.
Just figured I'd find out of I was the only one that happened to like the look fo the stock wheels.
Keep on praying for that turbo kit.

Well...the reason why those wheels look remarkably similar is that the one's that are OE on the Lancer are those same wheels. Custom sized and made for the Lancer, hence OZ Edition.

It's just the tires that suck a$$. The 15" wheels wouldn't be so bad if they were wrapped in stickier rubber. In fact, if you live in an area with a lot of potholes or construction, they will help you keep your fillings intact. Larger wheels mean more noise and road "texture".

So dudes,
Lets say the 15"ers on our cars are true Cronos. That would mean that they weigh less than 16.5lbs per wheel, which is the advertised weight of the 17x7's. Thats pretty damn light, and they are also moderately priced in the aftermarket world.
So, my point is do you really think mitsubishi put this amount of quality wheel on an $17K car?
and if so, why the hell couldn't they put a decent size on there? even 16"s would look and feel better, and would match other manufacturer's OEM offerings
